Vomiting dog - can't remember a thing, help!

Sorry, its been years and I can't remember what to do/not do Blush

Mouse (11 months) didn't want his chew this morning for the first time ever. He then threw up fairly spectacularly, including lots of grass he'd eaten and undigested breakfast, at about 12.30. He seemed sorry for himself and weak for a while, then perked up and mooched around. He's just thrown up again, bile and a bit more grass (2pm).

I'm making him some boiled rice for later, more in order to get fluids into him than anything else (he likes it in water). Anything else I can do?

He was meant to be going to doggy day care tomorrow for the day, as we were having a family treat day out - not sure what to do about that Confused as he'd be with a few other dogs, in someone's home. No idea how to tell if its infectious or not, but am thinking should play safe, no?

Just to add - have now rung vets, for advice, and they said keep an eye on him, bring him in Monday if still unwell.

He's sleeping now.

My vet has always advised to starve (the dog that is!) for 24 hours, and leave fresh water down. He's probably eaten something he shouldn't, but keep an eye on him just in case it is something else.

If you send him to day care, let them know the situation as it might be an idea to keep him crated somewhere quiet away from the other dogs.

I hope Mouse is feeling better now. That sounds like good advice from the vet. See how he is overnight and in the morning. Sometimes these things work through very quickly.

How is Mouse today?

Sorry, went awol due to seive-head memory Blush

Mouse is 100% fine thanks Smile

He was ok by the evening, then had a great time at the doggy man's house with 5 other dogs, two large walks, and usual food (we did tell the owner, just in case, but he was totally himself so we guessed it was something he'd eaten).

I have a feeling Mouse has been digging around and eating plant bulbs, or some such toxic stuff - it was hard to tell from what came out again, but clearly a lot of grass. I had wormed him the day before, so wondered at first if that had put him off his food a bit, but he's never vomited from worming!

Thanks all Smile
