Ok so we've decided to take the plunge and start feeding raw.

We recently moved to Germany and the best dog food we've found is Royal Canin which, is pretty rubbish.

In the UK we used to feed them NaturesDiet. We can get it shipped over here but I think if I can get my head round raw feeding I should be able to feed a well balanced diet without having to ship food over.

So, I have stock our chest freezer with chicken legs and thighs. Now I am wondering what other types of meat are good and what we should feed with the meat?
I know raw eggs are good. Sardines etc but what about fruit & Veg? Is Lamb and beef ok too?

I've read a lot of websites and some say no veg, some say veg etc. Just wanted to know what all you raw feeders do and what works for you.

The only thing we cant do is feed liver and it's too high in purines for Dalmatians.

Any advice would be great!

You will have to do a bit more research for feeding Dalmations on RAW there is a dalmation raw feeding group here that can help you.

Generally you will have to add more water to your dogs food than you would for other dogs. You will find that a raw fed dog will drink less but you will want your dalmations to keep up their liquid intake.

I don't feed veg to my dogs but would do so if feeding dalmations again some veg is high in purines (I think it is cauliflower but not sure so do check that)

Sardines are high so maybe not those but turkey chicken eggs, beef sometimes. lamb porketc.

Thanks minimuu!

I had read about giving them more water etc and also that chicken or turkey is better than red meat and to avoid organs but didnt know about the fish so thanks for that!

Thanks for the link, it's all very interesting. The trouble with raw seems to be that everyone does it slightly differently.
