Some of you may recall me posting a few months ago - I wanted a pup and was offered one by my neighbour who breeds miniature labradoodles, DH was VERY anti the whole idea and I asked for opinions.

So, pup arrived on Thursday and, I realise it's early days, but it has all been so lovely. Scooby Doo (7yr old naming!!) is a chilled out and calm bundle of loveliness! He is great and I really think we got him at the perfect time - I was able to take him for a walk around the garden this morning safe in the knowledge that the kids are fine inside on their own and will call if they need me. I think a year ago it would have been hard to manage. (DC are 7, 5 and nearly 3)
I'm besotted and even DH is cracking!! I left pup in his crate yesterday when I took my youngest out but when I came home he was out in the garden with DH who said "the poor little guy looked sad in there"!!! Who's the softie??! He was also cooing over him as he slept in the living room the other night. He has admitted that it hasn't been as bad as he thought it would be. I'm trying to drill the children in Dog Whisperer type calmness and, so far, it's working - when they want to go nuts with him, they go outside.

Anyway, I hope not to be eating my words in a few weeks, but really wanted to thank all that took time to respond to me and give me such great advice Smile

Shamelessly bumping myself! (only because I'm really slow at typing and that post took me ages!)

You do realise the price for any advice is that we get regular pics and updates on the new bundle of gorgeousness? Grin

You do realise that the calm will be shattered when said Doodle reaches it's 'teens'?

Mine was a cuddly, sleepy ball of fluff till he hit 8 months old. He's now 21 months and still and whirl of fur, legs and woofs!!

Glad everything has worked out well for you so far! Make sure you take loads of photos though, I can't believe how much Barney has grown in 3 months, from just over 5kg at the vets the day after we picked him up he's now just over 17kg and still has a lot of growing to do Grin

PersonalClown - I was hoping that wouldn't be the case but guessing it would... Lalalala - I'm not listening!!!

It was manic at times over the weekend and I felt really mean putting him in his crate this morning while I did school run (he'd only been out of it for an hour) but I hope that we will work out our routines. He's flat out next to me now so I need to wake him up for some exercise before I'm off to school again (it takes me an hour).

Thanks all Smile
