A Hoover that picks up dog hair

richpersoninapoorpersonsbody · 20/12/2011 17:58

I have a big German Sheperd dog who moults all the time, my Hoover have up today (after 5 years of relentless dog hair) and I need a new one does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not made of money but I can't live with dog hair everywhere.

Miele Cat and Dog

Twunk · 20/12/2011 18:01

Sebo Felix. Brilliant.

Avantia · 20/12/2011 18:01

Miele - may be expensive but good investment .

scrappydoodah · 20/12/2011 19:52

Another vote for miele. I've had mine years, and it is still as good as new. Worth every penny.

Lizcat · 20/12/2011 20:12

My pet dyson is fab even picks up arrogant posh boy cats hairs and they are like glue.

feesh · 20/12/2011 20:21

Miele Cat and Dog for sure. I think you could buy any old Miele though and get the turbo brush separately as I think that's the only thing which makes it specific for animals.

TheMonster · 20/12/2011 20:25

I found the pet Dyson was rubbish and blocked constantly. I then has a Samsung pet one which was even worse!
The best for our dog hairs is actually the £19.99 Argos value one. I kid ye not.

mycatsaysach · 20/12/2011 20:28

blimey really eeyore - i need a new one too
what dog have you got?

op robert dyas had loads of hoovers reduced this week - check on line reviews

TheMonster · 20/12/2011 20:29

We have 2 Staffies. The value vacuum even picked up cat hairs that the dyson AND Sumsung missed...and the cat has been dead 18 months!

Iscreamtea · 20/12/2011 20:31

Henry hound here too.

silentcatastrophe · 22/12/2011 18:01

our Henry seems to do the trick, but who knows, we might just live in a kennel...

bushymcbush · 22/12/2011 18:07

Love my Dyson.

midori1999 · 22/12/2011 20:19

We've got four dogs, three of them hairy retrievers and a very hariry ragdoll cat, dark blue carpets and a Dyson Animal. The carpets are a nightmare and show any little speck of anything on them and the hoover is fab. When it broke (the bit that tilts and goes upright again, if that makes sense?) they sent an engineer to our house the next day to fix it and he also replaced the brush FOC for us.

midori1999 · 22/12/2011 20:20

that was meant to say three 'very hairy retrievers', not sure where three 'of them hairy retrievers' came from... Grin

Miele cat and dog

Thankfully I have mainly hard flooring where my Rottie is allowed, but he sheds like mad (think indoor tumbleweed!) and it's a sod to hoover off the rugs. I've got a Vax which is rubbish so I use a rubber curry comb (for horses) to brush it off. It works great! Wouldn't want to do a fitted carpet that way though but it's good for small areas.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 23/12/2011 21:02

Sebo make great vacuum cleaners- apparently the NHS recommend them for houses with allergy-sufferers.

curlymo · 04/01/2012 22:19

Told how to get animal hairs off your carpets and furniture a quick and easy way. Get a bucket of warm water with some nice smelling detergent. Put on rubber gloves and dip into the water. Then rub the mat where hairs are. The hair magetnises on to the glove. Dip into water and repeat. Try and let me know what you think
