Anything I can do about wee smell?

My 14.5 year old Springer has frequent accidents now, even when the back door is open she often doesn't quite make it.

I can manage number 2's, but number 1's are a bit of a nightmare, especially with Christmas looming and more visitors likely.

I'm using flash with febreze (after mopping up with paper towels) and then a disinfectant (currently one with a warm cinnamon scent), so the smell in the kitchen (tiled floor) isn't too bad, however, if she has an accident while we're out or during the night, the smell tends to spread into other rooms, where it lingers.

Anyway, does anyone know of anything (preferably natural) that I could put in her water to "improve" the smell? or am I going to have to fill the house with candles?

She drinks lots of water, has recently been the the vets for a booster and check up and is generally very fit and healthy for a old dog.

Not natural and not dog wee, but for cat accidents I scrub with biological washing powder. Seems to stop them going back to the same spot, so presumably destroys the smell?

My problem really is that I can get rid of the smell in the kitchen, but there's often a lingering smell in other parts of the house and I'm guessing if I can smell it guests will pick up on it.

Maybe I'll just have to light lots of candle and spray fabreze.

try white vinegar and water diluted 50:50. use this to clean any area where your dog has had an accident. the vinegar smell disappears once the surface is dry and it takes other smells with it. you can also use vinegar to mop tiled floors - it doesn't need to be 50:50 for that, just a good splash in the mop bucket. leaves tiles nice and shiny too!

for air borne doggy smells try leaving dishes of white vinegar in the room - i put it in ramekins and leave them in the corners of the windowsill behind the curtains. sounds bizarre but really helps.

Thanks, I'll try the white vinegar.
