Just got myself a Patterdale terrier and toy poodle cross. I am normally a cat person but fell for her. Any thoughts on what type of size she'll get to??? She is crazy with the cats , she just wants to play but I feel I need to nip it in the bud. I need her to stop waking in her crate when the heating comes on at 5 and whining for an hour, she's lovely I just need advice ... Lack of experience n all. Xx

I have a wonderful so-called 'patterdoodle' (dad miniature poodle and mum patterdale). She is much bigger than I thought she would be!! about the size of a small Labrador or springer spaniel!! As I thought she would be a small dog she has been treated like one when she was a puppy and therefore allowed as in too many places in the house!
If people ask me what she is I just say she is a perfect mutt - as really not sure about these fancy names for dogs that are really mongrels! I call her a "TPM" - either standing for Terrier Poodle mix or The Perfect Mutt!
She is very feisty and will always chase anything that moves. - Squirrels are her favourite. She is very athletic and agile and able to jump really high. I do need to watch her occasional grumpyness with smaller dogs - this started after her first 'season' . Patterdales are known for their viciousness so you have to be careful and make sure she is properly socialised as a youngster. She is a great dog though, as sporty and cuddly.
