Feel really bad.......

I was out this evening collecting some Avon books around 6pm, I knocked on a door and the owner came round the side yard and opened the gate and handed me the book, and then his jack russell bolted, right up the main road, I was whistling and he was yelling it, and the little dog just completely ignored owner and carried on running (mind you, buster, for fucks sake, here! wouldn't inspire me to return either). I knocked on the door again, and roused a couple more people from the house who also came out, the dog was nowhere to be seen. I feel awful about it being missing on a night when fireworks are still going off!!
DH says that it's not my fault, but I feel awful!!

It's not your fault, I hope the dog is found but it most certainly not your fault.

of course it's not your fault!

SadOh dear, but all I can do is repeat, its not your fault.

Dee03 · 06/11/2011 21:38

No not your fault.....
I also have a jack Russell called Buster...Smile

Thanks guys, I think I needed to hear it from others, DH may be biased!! He did point out that dog should have been shut up so couldn't get out, and certainly should come back when called! I just didn't know what to do, I offered to help look, but they just gave me a bit of a strange look! I daren't knock again to see if it came back (I'd be mortified if it happened again, and the owner looked like he wanted to shoot me).
Really really hope they got him back, he was bloody fast, I'm hoping he veered off the main road towards some fields, but I couldn't spot him!!

OP I doubt this is the first time Buster has escaped and it wont be the last.

It isnt your fault, it is the owners for not teaching proper recall and not securing the dog in the house/garden.

It's no-one's fault. Buster prob extra stressed from fireworks.

Fingers xed he's back soon.
