ralphs ears are now clear.

the last two weeks have cost us over £100 on his ears alone.

our sinsurence will cover his ears now for a year with regards infections, for the one off £75 excess fee.

trying to decide whether or not to start a claim now and get a small amount back, or wait and see if we need to do another claim.

ralph is a poddle/lab cross so prone to ear troubles.

i am thinking start the claim now, to avoid any further outlay, especially before xmas.

Really difficult on. I had a dog customer whose dog had gland problems, one infection after another but nothing costing more than the excess so he never claimed. About 2 years after the first infection the vet decided to remove glands quoted £800 and told owner insurance would cover it. When owner tried to claim from Tesco they wouldn't pay out stating it was a condition that started over a year ago, he said he'd never claimed for previous infections as wasn't worth it. Tesco said he should have claimed and wouldn't pay out!!

Speak to your vet as it will be on Ralph's vet record and only vet and your insurance company will know what conditions will apply.

Oh and good luck with the clear ears :-)

when he has had runny tums/bloody diahorrea due to eating the wrong things (nothing since being on a raw food diet), i never claimed. but am thinking it will be worth it to get this down and sorted with the insurence company

we're with homebase and the vets have spoken to the insureners and they wil cover his treatment for his ears, so am thinking i'll drop the forms off tomrrow, and get things moving.

Misdee, regular use of Thornit, no poodle person is ever without it which says a lot about the product and our poodley ears lol..

sorry read that as ears lol.. too early in the morning for me lol

eyes, we always used a product called Diamond Eye, probably a thing from the past now. Now we just use cotton wool and cool boiled water, but these two have great eyes, when we had whites they were much worse.
