Dog friendly places to go on holiday?

Hi we have just returned from yet another lovely holiday in the Lakes but we feel after 8 years of going on holiday there we have done all we can and we have found that we are returning to the same old places and think that we should perhaps consider visiting another area in the uk. The only thing is we want somewhere that is dog friendly as we always take her on holiday with us, she is getting old and has started struggling with long walks so we would like to go somewhere near towns or villages that we can visit without our dog having to walk too far. Can anybody recommend areas for us to visit, just for info we live in Yorkshire and would be looking to stay outside of Yorkshire. Many Thanks Limy

Pembrokeshire. Astonishingly gorgeous beaches. Fab countryside. This place is utterly heavenly and truly dog friendly. They also have a wide selection of horses, ducks, etc. Wonderful beaches and walks nearby, plus lots of great walks on the farm itself.

This is also in Pembrokeshire and welcomes dogs - have stayed there, walks , golf , spa and restaurant !

Hill End Farm in the Peak District is very dog friendly but you need to be aware that they are a smallholding with chickens, peacocks and the like strutting around the areas outside the accommodation (the chickens worked out how to get out!) so you need to supervise outside visits (even if they couldn't give two hoots about small moving animals, you need to be aware of occasional vehicles). Their own dogs are very friendly.

Short walks up the hill into a small wooded area and a lane where bilberries grow wild and Bakewell, Buxton, Leek and all those places within a short distance. Absolutely fab for my old boy who could no longer cope with big hikes. I started taking him years ago on fireworks night and it progressed from there to the point where we would stay for 2 weeks and sometimes go out for half a day and leave him there (with her permission) and she would let him out when she was in the yard with her dogs so he got chance for a wee and a sniff. He loved that place

Good for kids too, if you have them. Lots of animals to feed!
