At 11am the Barnes family's uncertainty will be ended.

There's a candle alight in my home and a flame in my heart for Lennox - I pray to whatever god is up there that hope, burning desire and tears alone can bring him home, safe and alive, because if they can, he will be saved.

I fear though that as ever tears mean nothing...

He claimed the dog represented a danger due to his unpredictability. theres a lot of humans that sentence could be applied to but we dont put them down.

Realistically I don't think there's anywhere else to turn and that there's no hope. Chances are Lennox is already dead tonight. :(

I almost "knew" this would be the outcome. Lennox's death warrant was signed not the moment the judge made his decision but the moment the government decided that a "type" dog was dangerously illegal and that his owner was, unlike in most UK acts of law, guilty unless and until they could prove themselves innocent.

Fuck... how on earth do you live with that? How do you live with fighting so hard for your best friend, only to lose him after not seeing him for so long and not even being allowed to say goodbye? I don't think I'd want to carry on, I really don't, and my heart aches so much for the Barnes' family tonight.

Run free, Lennox.

The bbc are reporting that the family have 21 days to make an appeal.

Sad
PamBeesly · 01/10/2011 17:59

This is the saddest thing I've read in a long time and has made me cry. Poor dog

misdee · 02/10/2011 16:23

From their fb paage 'Save Lennox It Isn't Over! The Fight Continues, Don't Give Up No Matter How Gloom Things May Look! Let's All Fight On Not Just For Lennox But All Victims Of BSL. Thank You All.'

notmeagain · 02/10/2011 19:50

Yes don't stop fighting yet - there is loads of people doing all that they can still for Lennox.

If anyone can help with legal help to try to help Lennox please do go the facebook page and offer any help.

Some rescues have also offered a home to Lennox and the fight is still on - there are petitions to sign if you want to help just a bit.

This dog is still alive and still needs help!

midori1999 · 13/06/2012 13:17

i thought it had been ruled yesterday that he will be put to sleep and the family haven't released a further statement. (not suprisingly!) Sad Can they make an appeal?

PandaWatch · 13/06/2012 13:50

This makes me feel physically sick. I actually feel quite shakey imagining myself in that family's shoes.

I haven't heard of this before today. Has it ever been considered that he could be rehomed in a country where the Dangerous Dogs Act doesn't apply at all? ROI even?

GingerWrath · 13/06/2012 13:57

Apparently the courts will not allow people in a non DDA country to have him, they just want to have him PTS!

They have had offers from Italy, Canada, South Africa and the USA.

GingerWrath · 13/06/2012 13:58

Waiting to see what the family will do next.

midori1999 · 13/06/2012 14:24

It's just all so bloody sad. This dog has been through months and months of hell with goodness knows what happening to him under the 'care' of the local authority only to end up being put to sleep. (knowing of dog wardens who are also puppy farmers in NI, it doesn't say much for the LA, does it?!) Sad

I just think they now don't want to have to admit they are wrong. So many good experts have given opinions saying he is not dangerous, but they don't want to hear it. Sad

GingerWrath · 13/06/2012 14:29

I have seen on Twitter that Cesar Millan and his people are aware.

The whole case has been bad, perjurious wardens, using a police dog handler as an 'expert' over qualified behaviourists, ignoring the reg papers and papers from the Dogs Trust that quite obviously state he is a bulldog/lab x....

NuggetsForTeaAgain · 13/06/2012 14:33

i sent a letter (via a friend on FB) to David Cameron and the Irish government. I hope that it does not fall on deaf ears and tht they are inundated with letters for this poor boy. Keep going Lennox

hairylemon · 13/06/2012 14:56

Just came on here to see if an old thread has been resurrected. Feel so sad for the poor boy, the whole thing is an absolute disgrace Angry
