A dinky little greyhound, with the worst fur you'll ever see and a baldy scaly bottom who really is trying to figure out what in the world's going on happening to her - but she's here! (and since I tend to work on the assumption that greyhounds are like that expandy DIY foam and expand to fill the available space to splat out and she's on full splat-extension now - she must be doing ok with it all)

She does NOT like getting into the car - that's currently a 2 person operation (which means it'll be fun doing THAT on a weekday when I'm on my own). Likes it when she's IN the car though!

Fantastic! She sounds as if she is settling in really well. I love "licky" dogs. My female Collie pup LOVES to lick and give ear nibbles. She also fancies a "bit of french" from time to time which isn't quite so lovely - bleuurrgh! Grin

Congratulations! Lovely lucky hound - hope you'll all be very happy together.

Mentioned it on the other thread - just tried to introduce her to the cat (after 20 mins of hubby trying to get cat IN basket to do this)... hound sniffed once, fell asleep on floor!

This may take a while to get both participants in the training process concious together.

so pleased to hear you have your new dog, and that she is already proving so life enhancing. Somehow when you get a rescue dog and know they have had a difficult life it gives you even more pleasure having fun with them.

As for Scuttle's pimp my hound routine - I'm now £100 lighter... she's getting a coat combo in various shades of green, and a swirly black and red martingale, and a red velvet tag collar! Think I can probably make one of those towelling keep cool coats myself (why do I keep on ending up with black pets in a house with cream carpets?!) with a couple of cheap white towels and some velcro I know I have lying around the house anyway - I may have to get the sewing machine out and have a go!

Now poor Layton had a nice martingale collar and lost it in persuit of bunnies in the woods so has to slum it with a camoflage one!

Just called her to try to get her to go make an um... deposit out in the garden - no deposit but I got the most massive waggy tail (well it's so bedraggled it's more like a waggy bit of string at the moment) and grin from her when I said it! (Still wasn't enough to remove her from her bed!)

A fine padawan you are, Chick

Empty, it's normal for poo to be out of whack for a few days when they change homes. Time, amount and texture can all vary from what's normal, especially if she's had a change of diet as well.

At least she'll be a smart greyhound when she visits the park. Grin
