It is physiologically impossible for any dog to lock his jaw. To do so would require him to dislocate his jaw which would be incredibly painfull.

My Staffy is Lola, 21 months old, she is a blue with white chest and white stripe down her face (photos on profile!) She is absolutely beautiful.

She is crazy, bouncy, cuddly and snuffly, she loves to play with our cat (while the cat attacks her Grin ) and is fantastic with my Dc, who adore her!

She has the lovliest temprement, the vet was bending a sore leg the other day and gave her and injection, she doesn't even raise her lip.

When we are out she loves to play with other dogs and if another dog tells her off, she rolls straight on to her back!

She loves nothing more than sitting on your lap for cuddles like a baby, an over three stone baby!

'Big heart and a big smile, they will love you like no other, and ask for nothing in return'

bumpybecky - Staffs have very strong jaws, but as Dooin has said, they can't 'lock'.

I suspect that what happens in most of these cases where bullbreeds apparently 'lock' onto something is that someone becomes hysterical, starts hitting the dog or something else similarly stupid and counter-productive.

Staffs are most definitely NOT dangerous dogs.

They are very strong, very energetic, retain their puppyish silliness for a long time - which can make them quite exhausting - and possibly partly explains why so many get abandoned, i.e. because 1st owners weren't prepared for how energetic they can be, but they are a wonderful, loving, fun, loyal, sweet natured, gorgeous, gorgeous breed.

I don't know any responsible SBT owner who hasn't completely adored their Staff.

I could go on....
