goldren retrievers??? My favourite all time doggy. Such beauts. If it was just for me I would definitely have one. Just don't feel I could handle a retreiver as our garden is not all that big and they are quite boisteroius for a small child. I couldring Many tears. Will put that on mylist! I live on the South Coast so not really near enough to drop by! I have jsut put ina pre adoption form for a beautiful x breed being fostered in Oxford. Not sure of parentage but he is gorgeous and I am keeping my fingers crossed! How long does the adoption process generally take once you have been deemed worthy Wink

The Government should require people to have a 'licence to breed' before they can sell a puppy on. That would deter lots of 'breeders' especially if the licence fee was sufficiently expensive.

You'd still get people flouting the law and people who just want cheap puppy who would over look the fact that the 'breeder' they were buying from had no liscence.

I've just heard about someone trying to rescue a dog to sell on Shock. The person trying to arrange the rescue had offered to pay the rescue fee for any potential adopter providing they passed the homecheck and interview because this poor boy only has until 3:30pm tomorrow to find a home or he will be killed. A 'dog dealer' tried to use this to her own advantage to obtain a free dog to sell Sad

I had no idea dog dealers existed but I have been assured they are quite common. And people wonder why rescues insist on so many checks and ask so many questions Hmm

Cruella Deville Sad ugh.

Oh goodness how I'd love one of Midori's pups - my dream doggy! DH has nixed retrievers as too 'sheddingy' Hmm grrrrr. But I think an adult rescue would be better for us anyway, with a nervous little dd. Bouncy lab/retriever pup tugging her PJ hems might be a bit much for her.

Doin. I'm certain people will flout the law but I still think making it tougher to breed will reduce the numbers of unwanted dogs.

something definintely has to be done. It is soooo heartbreaking how the breeding dogs/bitches are kept. Why do they go blind? So many of them have have cataracts. Horrid
