she's not been yet, just saw on the other thread she has an appointment tonight

kid · 03/05/2011 16:57

thanks minimu1 (and fruitshootsandheaves)
Appointment is at 6:10, I'm currently watching the clock trying to figure out what time I have to leave and talking myself into going. Not looking forward to it but I know that I am being silly. I don't like vets (sorry no offence meant for MNer vets!)

I hope they either say its normal (kind of hope not as the smell is horrible!) or that its an infection which will clear up with antibiotics. Wish I could just go with that diagnosis without having to go there lol

Most people are neurotic with their kids, not me, its the bloody dog!
I have decided that he is grounded now and I will be taking all his toys away for stressing me out Wink

any news?

kid · 03/05/2011 19:43

back from the vets, trying to eat dinner at the same time as posting here as I'm starving!

He has a skin infection on the skin around his mouth. They gave an injection and he has to go back next week to see if its healing. He might have to have the injection repeated the following week if its not healed next week.

The good news is, we have pet insurance which covers it. I just had to pay the £65 excess today and thats all I pay for this particular condition. The vet was so lovely too, so much better than the locum I saw last time. I will insist on only seeing vet in future as he knows my history and is more sympathetic towards my stupid fear of vets!

minimu1 · 03/05/2011 19:49

Phew so glad it went ok. That's a really good idea to make sure you ask to see the same vet each time as he knows your history.

Fingers crossed that it heals quickly

Enjoy your supper!

Good news. Hope it all clears up soon.

I saw this vet the first time I took Teddy for a routine puppy check up. He actually owns the practice along with his wife.

I didn't realise they had a locum working there, but when I took T back when he had kennel cough, I just got the impression he didn't even care about my baby. Obviously he did otherwise he wouldn't be a vet, but I just didn't like the way we were rushed in and out.

The owner is so much kinder. He knows about Moby, I emailed him when we first got T and explained the situation with Moby. He replied and although I can't remember exactly what he said, I knew it made me feel comfortable enough to take T there. Plus a friend recommended them.

Glad it went OK, kid, and hope it clears up soon without too much vet intervention :) I think a vet who seems to really care about your animals really does help. I'm neurotic about my dogs too, and with less reason than you!
