Ok. Assuming that I agree to increasing family clamour to get a dog- and I am NOT saying I will mind- what us the best option for a household with 2 cats already in situ? Puppy? Older dog?

Any advice please.

I'd prefer to take on a rescue dog but would an older dog be set in it's ways re persecuting cats? Would a puppy learn better by being boxed around the ears a few times?

Ah yes....

My Lola gets called Lolie, Lolie Wolie, Lolie Woles, Woly Poly Pudding and pie, Loles..... Blush Good thing she can't speak English or she's leave home - she is a very cool cat.

FatCat gets called Fattie, Fatso, Fatima, Chubs and similar variations on a theme Grin She doesn't give a toss - as long as she gets fed. Hence the name.

Ormirian · 13/06/2011 11:31

I did point out to the DC that he could be called BD (' Bloody Dog') as in 'where's that bloody dog' ! At least that is what dad's JRT used to get called quite often....... Grin

They said 'Mummm!' in outraged tones so I think that was a no.

....Harley, Steve Harley, Cockney Rebel. Rebel?!?

Or is that asking for trouble? Smile

Elibean · 13/06/2011 11:32

....Davidson. Hmm, no.

Ormirian · 13/06/2011 11:38

Ooh I didn't think of Cockney Rebel. Much better than the ZZTop images I kept getting. Hmmm at rebel - we live next door to a somewhat....bohemian...area where Rebel is probably up there with Tyson and Killer in the dog names stakes Grin But Sebastian maybe....or Mr Soft?

He's gorgeous, so handsome and looks very intelligent! Think you'll be in for a lively time! I'd call him Smiler, as in "Come up and see me, make me sm-i-i-ile. Do what you want, Running Wi-i-i-ld."

Elibean · 13/06/2011 13:23

You'll get mugged if you call him Sebastian Grin

Hmmm...harley...harvey...steve...stevie...Nix?!

Nix....nothing....Zero....Z....uhoh, back to the ZZs....(hours of fun here, really should go and do something)

Ormirian · 13/06/2011 13:27

Funnily enough DS2 wanted to call any dog we got Steve. Regardless of gender Hmm. Which makes a change from Tim - which is usually his favourite. All his fav stuffed animals are Tim....
