Dog in season - got some questions

My puppy is growing up Sad she came into season on thursday and has generally been absolutely fine, today I tried to take her for a walk (late evening so not many people on the local footpaths) she point blank refused to come anywhere near me or the lead (usually fine). She was acting all funny and just won't even come near me for a stroke, she just ran straight to her kennel and now won't come out Sad. I went for the walk on my own!!!!!!!!!

Is this something to do with her being in season - its been a while since I have had a dog in season!

my bitch was like this when she had her season. we got her neutered at 2, but she still has "dummy" seasons :(

(no bleeding, & obv. she can't get preg, but her behaviour changes. she becomes timid & shy-towards humans- but becomes very dominant towards the other dog, when she's normally so submissive towards him, she normally lets him away with murder-prefers to go to another room & lie alone in the dark, won't come near me but is all over my husband like a rash lol she has to come out with me, i do the walking, but she does so under sufferance. and she pees constantly on her walks, literally every two steps, as if she's spreading her scent to tell the boys to come & get her- although she obviously doesn't have "that" smell as she's been neutered.
so i'd hazard a guess & say, yep, it's probably to do with her season!!

My girl only had one season before I spayed her but it was horrible. She just seemed really sad and confused, was more cuddly than usual and didn't seem as "up for it" as normal. I actually felt quite emotional - I just wanted to tuck her up with a hot water bottle and some paracatamol, like I would do with a daughter having her first period Hmm Grin

They can be a bit funny when they are in season, especially their first one, but generally I find treating them just the same as when they aren't in season (as much as is possible) means they act the same.

One of our girls did used to insist on laying down and rolling over when asked to get in the car during her seasons though. We used to have to lift her in, as nothing would persuade her, and it was like trying to pick up a child that has made themselves all sloppy to avoid being picked up! Grin She's fine these days though.
