Liver Cake

I am going to make liver cake for the dogs as high reward treats when training.

Anyone care to share a different recipe to what I have got?

250g Liver
2 cloves Garlic
2 eggs
125g SR Flour (I am using Gluten Free for Loofa)

mush liver in processor, chuck in eggs, garlic & flour, whizz for a bit - put on a lined baking tray/cake tin in oven 180C fan 160 for about 30mins.

cool and cut into pieces and freeze in bags until required.

Sounds about right, to be honest I just guess now it always seems to come out right. You can microwave too, takes about 10 minutes. But be prepared for the smell...

You can always pour the mixture into mini muffin cases and look incredibly poncetastic when dog walking Blush

Does anyone want to make some for my little Teddy?
I think he'd like it but I just can't do it. Surely liquidized liver looks like blood and guts?!
Does it stink when you cook it?
How do you get the food processor sparkling clean afterwards?
It just sounds too gross lol

Yes, it stinks the oven out. I put halved oranges on a tray and bake them afterwards. The food processor goes in the dishwasher. The upside is the dogs love you.

If you pm me your address I'll send you some next time I make it. God knows what the postman will think though :o

Would it survive in the post?

I have no idea! It could go a bit nasty if it wasn't kept refrigerated I would imagine.

I was advised to cook liver cake on a very very low heat like meringues, overnight so it dries out. The smell is.... well.... liver cake smell.... for a long time. I also found it very very difficult to cut up. Still, the dogs loved it! For now we use frankfurters!
