Travel crates

So far bonkers labradoodle, in his 8 months on the planet, has eaten his way out of 2 fabric travel crates. He chews through the stitching in the fabric sides and the busts out through the windows. Chaos ensues

We have a metal crate in the house, which he's fine in, but it's way too heavy to lug around and doesn't fit in the car we usually take on long journeys (I have a beaten up old 'dog car' for walkies!).

I need something light, collapsible, but more robust than Jolleys or PAH offer. I'm thinking plastic, but haven't seen any. Any ideas?

If he is a chewer you might be better just to buy another metal crate for the car. you can get light weight metal ones like ((www.amazon.co.uk/BUDGET-ECONOMICAL-LIGHTWEIGHT-DOG-CAGES/dp/B003XS5NW6 this one]] but smaller obviously!
Or you could consider dog proofing the car with a dog guard and maybe a tailgate guard.

we have a dogbag - best investment ever made. Very robust and our chewer has never got out of it! Ours is the tent type one

Thanks for hte Dog Bag link, looks interesting.

He's fine in the crates 99 per cent of the time. And currently has his old, knackered fabric crate in our car (hastily repaired). The problem is when we go to stay with friends, which is the only time he's ever busted out, and we need something robust but lighter than metal. I have in my head a sort of collapsible plastic crate, but can't find any?

Oh, and he's over 25kgs, so it has to be large!

We use the dogbag when on holiday - It has velcro on the bottom so stays put on carpet - It's like a very tough kids pop up tent. So collapses down to nothing (very useful when squeezing dog into a full car boot as the sides aren't rigid)

I got ours from ebay for cheaper than on the website I linked to.

Ours has lasted 7 years, longer than the indestructible dog beds we've gone through!
