8 month old lab bitch - changed her dog food a couple of weeks ago and all seemed fine.

Then about a week ago it seemed everyother day she was sick in the morning anytime between 4am & 7am - not much a bit of bile , and grass.

I upped her food a bit in the evening and that seemed to sort that out.

Now the last two mornings she has turned up nose up at breakfast - yesterday she evetually ate it - nornal day - , woofed down her tea.

This morning turned her nose up - not touched it at all.

No sickness , poo as normal .

Fussy eater ? Is it her coming into season ?

Shall I go back to her old dog food or just what to see what happens ?

Hi, this sounds like my bitch when she is about to come into season.

She gets depressed and goes off her food.

Be careful with changes to her food, it can really upset their gut and cause problems if not done little by little (big vet bill experience as a new owner Blush)

She'll eat when she's hungry - ultimately she's a Lab so she won't starve herself :)

I did gradually introduce the new food - its good stuff Ardan Grange - she is also whinning alot more , she is extremely submissive when out and lie on her back and lets the boys give her a good sniff !

Just a though about her being in season as I cant see any other problems at moment that indicate stomach upset.

I will keep an eye on it .

That sounds like she's coming into season. She must be grumpy and have a sore tummy, I can sympathise Wink :)

Ok - what do I need to look for next with her if we think she is coming into season - when will the bleeding start - although would this necessarily happen with first season?

I can't remember with mine, my friend's pup has just had her first season though and she did bleed.

IIRC they have a week (ish) with clear fluid and then the blood sets in. Most bitches are clean though - mine doesn't drip anywhere and is constantly licking herself clean.

Their bits also get very swollen and their nipples do too.

My Pip is very 'fighty' and scared when in season - I can tell it's coming when I am walking her and she tries to pick a fight with every dog we see! At other times she's beyond friendly.

I've got to go and get some more dog food today before the other finishes -so I will keep at her new food .

As you say she is a lab and shouldn't starve !

Poor love _ i'm due on next week - My DH is going to have two horminal females in the house Grin

Well she has eaten her tea !

I forget to take up her uneaten breakfast before we went out so she ate that when we got back from our walk - where she ran around like a loone and scoffed four dog biscuits as we sat outside a coffee shop !
