Found squishy lump on my precious older dog

:(

She is a terrier cross and it's under her armpit/ side of her chest.

It's squishy and mobile and apparently causes her no pain. All of which according to Vet google, is good news.

My exe's elderly border collie had a number of these and they were harmless fatty lumps.

I am still worried though and will have it checked out.

She's my heartdog and can't bear the thought of anything happening to her. She's 12 this year and I love every greying hair on her little body.

Please get her checked out. I know we are all brilliant here on MN, but no substitute for a vet! Apologies to posters who actually ARE vets.

Hi Bella,

I found a lump on my dog's stomach last year and, like you, was really worried.

I took her to the vet to have it checked and they thought it best to have it removed asap and sent off for testing. Anyway the lump ended up being harmless and I did feel slightly guilty at putting her through an unnecessary op, but at the same time it put my mind at ease, and if it had been something nasty then the vet said I would have caught it early, which would have maximised my dog's chances of treatment/recovery.

Have her checked out as soon as you can, you'll be glad you did even if it turns out to be nothing. Fingers crossed for you that she's ok.

My little old man (14 yr old terrier cross) has become lumpy and bumpy over the last few years. I always get any new one I find checked by the vet who tells me to monitor them and go back if they get bigger. When we go to the vet for any reason he always has a quick check over the lumps.

Get your dog's lump checked, but try not to worry in the meantime because it is quite common.

Ladies thank you. The vet took a sample from the lump but was almost certain it was OK. Waiting to hear but I think all is well. I love her so much.

Such good news. It's always a relief when the vet confirms nothing to worry about. Smile
