Friendly Rottie needs a home!

A friend and I hauled a dog out of a Yorks pound last week, on the day he was due to be put to sleep. This particular pound, Fleet Kennels near Halifax, puts to sleep all strays which they consider hard to home when the seven days grace permitted by law is over. By that logic they will undoubtedly put to sleep any dog which is handed in by his owner and whicy consider hard to home immediately, as is their right in law. :( Angry

This boy got lucky though. He's a soppy, friendly Rottie who loves his game of fetch. He's about 4 years old. He is safe in the care of Hull Animal Welfare, to whom I owe the world for saving his life by offering him a rescue space - it was a struggle to find that space, I can tell you.

Hull Animal Welfare normally only rehome in the Hull and East Riding area as they like to be within reach of their dogs but this is not set in stone so it's always worth asking if you feel that you have the ideal home for this boy or any of their dogs. Their dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and prospective owners are homechecked. The rescue commits to taking the dog back at any stage if the owner's circumstances change for whatever reason and they can no longer keep him.

So, if you're a Rottie person, are looking for a large breed friendly dog or know someone who is, you could do far worse than give this lad a chance.
