Mine sleeps on,and often in,my bed. The cat also occasionally joins us.

Our dog sleeps on her bed, next to the radiator in our bedroom...until 5am when she goes out for a wee then when she comes back in gets on our bed to sleep until 7 when we get up.

Our cat has a big comfy chair in the kitchen diner - we want to throw it out because it doesn't match anything but she loves it so we won't Blush

festivefriedawhingesagain · 01/12/2010 22:06

In my bed, under the duvet next to my legsBlush Ok til she starts dreaming/twitching/chasing rabbits.

She goes to the bottom of the stairs to wait for me to go to bed when she hears me locking up.

PuraVida · 01/12/2010 22:08

On our pillow unfortunately. Luckily she's very small and very clean and very very sweet and snuggly

lillybloom · 01/12/2010 23:04

My puppy sleeps in her crate in the utility room. She loves it.

wildfig · 01/12/2010 23:31

In crates, downstairs; they're not allowed upstairs (a) because they don't do stairs very well, and (b) I need to keep one area of the house smelling of human beings.

In their ideal world, we would all sleep together on the sofa, in a big snorey heap. Am tempted, in this weather.

JRsandCoffee · 02/12/2010 18:41

Next to the bed on his own bed until he wakes up in the night and gets up, pulls the duvet back with his paw and dives in.... Sleeps in his crate once a month when he gets his Advocate on, and looks most offended! I figure it's good for him to occasionally sleep without us, but I feel horrible shutting the door on him.

fffreeezing · 02/12/2010 18:51

On her 'duvet style' bed in hall, or if DP has left living room doors open Xmas Angry, on the couch! Cat sleeps in cat bed on top of table in hallway, sometimes have her on bed for snuggle but then ends up scratching at doorway

ellenjames · 02/12/2010 18:58

up until the cold spell downstairs in her crate but much to dh's disgust she now sleeps on our bed! But is no bother and when he is on nights i have something to snuggle! Smile

Sugarmuppet · 02/12/2010 19:57

Our dog sleeps on the floor at the bottom of our bed - until DH leaves for work at 2am - then he comes in for a snuggle with me. Not that DH knows it.

DH forgot something the other day and came back up the stairs into the room, the dog in one movement lept from beside me back onto his rug on the floor! Talk about respect!

(We did start in a crate, then in the utility room with a stair gate, then at the bottom of the stairs, then outside the bedroom door...great intentions!)

flowerybeanbag · 02/12/2010 20:03

In the utility room on his beanbag. And yes, said beanbag is indeed of the flowery variety! He's in touch with his feminine side...

usualsuspect · 02/12/2010 20:06

On a beanbag in our bedroom ...in fact he starts pacing and looking at me if I'm on MN too long, when he wants to go to bed

MmeBucket · 02/12/2010 20:09

In her dog bed on the sofa. Under her double-folded over blanket.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 03/12/2010 11:40

Crate in the bedroom next to my side of the bed so i cant shush him back to sleep if he wakes, but hes only 12 weeks old at mo, he will move downstairs eventually but shhh, dont tell him that :)

pud1 · 03/12/2010 11:42

on my bed. my own fault, brought him into our bed 6 years ago when he was a cute little puppy. all warm and cuddly, now he is a 5 stone boxer dog and i am paying the price of my own stupidity

TooImmature2BMum · 03/12/2010 17:57

In crate in our bedroom, which is completely covered in blankets to keep the draughts out. This is a compromise - he used to sleep in the bed with us under the duvet, and would get in and out of bed like a yo-yo as he got too hot in the bed, then too cold out of bed...this didn't bother DH one bit because he never woke up, but dog cannot get back under duvet on his own, so would come and stand by my head, preferably on my hair, and stick his nose in my face until I woke up and let him under the covers. My resistance is low at 3am and I haven't the stamina to say no...especially because he will only go away for ten minutes and then come back and look imploringly at me some more. When I got pregnant I insisted he get used to sleeping in crate and he settled pretty quickly, after whimpering for the first night and getting squirted with water pistol by DH. Felt very silly to have put up with it for so long!

nooka · 04/12/2010 07:01

Our do has recently decided he loves beangags, so in the evening he mostly sleeps on his beanbag in the living room, and then at night he gets put to bed in the spare room next to our bedroom (which has a handy laminate floor in case of accidents). The beanbags were dd's so one is lilac and th eother one is white (not so much now) with lilac, pink and green spots. He looks very pretty and sweet snuggled up in them.

If I am away dh lets him sleep on our bed, and he does usually hop up there after his morning pee with dh if I am still in bed. when we go out that's where we tend to find him when we come back home too.

Avantia · 04/12/2010 08:23

5.5 month old lab - on bed under radiator in back room / kitchen .

Funnny how they get to know bed time routines - she goes in garden for wee then jumps on her bed when she see me getting the doggy biscuits . She had a couple at bed time.

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 04/12/2010 08:41

In crates in corner of living room. Don't like idea of dogs upstairs although DS would love it. Our stairs are very open so big dog doesn't like them. Little dog probably would as she is a nightmare but they are blocked off.

As soon as they hear 'bedtime' or the TV being switched off they are both up ready to go outside for a wee and I always have to go too for some bloody unknown reason. Don't mind in summer but hate it in winter. Then they come in and run into utility room for their biscuits which I then throw into their crates.

The babydog/kangaroo/Houdini starts whining around 5.30. She gets ignored till at least 6.

Dexterrocks · 04/12/2010 19:59

On the end of my ds bed - doctors orders to help with a sleep problem and it has worked a treat :)

RisiM · 04/12/2010 20:58

on their own bed in our room, god knows what would happen if they were made to stay downstairs at night - we go up to bed and so do they

midlandsmumof4 · 05/12/2010 00:10

Wherever they want. 2 Rottys. Usually one on the landing and one at foot of stairs although they both commute to bedroom when we vacate......Xmas Grin.

JaxTellersOldLady · 05/12/2010 21:40

Loofa sleeps at the bottom of the stairs, although he has a lovely bed in the lounge.

Lolly is in her crate at night time, she loves it. Has comfy snuggle vet bed and a snuggly lab toy donated by DD she uses as her pillow.

At the moment one is on the floor next to me, sprawled out and dreaming, the other is lying opposite me also fast asleep. So lovely to watch them dream.

poorbuthappy · 05/12/2010 21:45

Usually on the floor in the dining room, but she looked soooo cold the other night we donated the bean bag from the living room to her and it is now her bed.

Well i say that, but she is currently lying next to me on the sofa, with her head on a cushion. I want to be reincarnated as my bloody dog. Oh and she's got wind....

VeryStressedMum · 06/12/2010 00:17

Whereever she wants during the day, in the evening once the kids are in bed she comes up on the sofa with us and she sleeps in our bedroom in the night on floor next to bed.

midlandsmumof4 · 06/12/2010 00:40

We have doggie beds btw........one up & one down. They just don't use them.
