Has anyone had experience of Harvington pet insurance? They are offering me a much cheaper lifetime cover but I'm nervous of leaving pet plan. They are so fricking expensive!!

Think carefully before changing - if you have had any veterinary visits for anything other than routine vaccines and neutering etc then the new insurers (whoever you choose) are liable to not pay for any conditions that are remotely linked in any way. This applies even if you didn't make an insurance claim as even if you don't tell the new insurance your vet will be obliged to provide a full history with any claims. If however you took your current insurance out before any of these things were seen then you will still have cover for them should you continue your current policy.

Never heard of Harvington, but I'm with M&S and they were the cheapest I could find. Good level of cover too, just as good as petplan.

Petplan were the most expensive quote I got by far.

Never heard of Harvington, I'm with petplan because they were the only ones that I could find at the time who will cover the whole of dog's life. I have a rescue dog with a very uncertain past and so petplan seemed to be the best option even tho more expensive. That said, have never needed to claim in 6 years ...

I have an M&S Platinum policy which offers lifetime cover. Was £15 a month cheaper than petplan.

They were really good at paying out when my dog was diagnosed with HD.

If you get quotes through comparethemarket they will show which ones offer lifetime cover.

As another poster mentioned, if your dog has had any problems a new provider probably wont provide cover for these.
