Probably not allowed to link to an advert but open it and read it, it's heartbreaking

You are right, the RSPCA will not give a damn......Valhalla is your best bet for advice.

HalloweeseG · 01/11/2010 21:25

I hope she turns up soon.

no. RSPCA wouldn't be interested.

ultimately, all you have is two missing dogs - mother and pup,

and two dogs for sale from the same address, one under (presumpably) her partners name.

althogh i think it is wise if you are rehoming a dog to ask for some cash (to ensure they are thinking about it) that is not how i'd go about it.

Vallhala · 01/11/2010 22:33

I'm as confused as the rest of you. Nothing but the lost dogs comes up on an email search and I can't find a surname for the advertiser, though the first name is Kerry.

I notice that the Ridgeback for sale is in Retford, which rings alarm bells for me, but I'm unsure why. (I know, I'm bloody useless!). I THINK... in fact I'm 95% sure... that Retford is the location of a shit, dodgy, kill-happy pound. Which, incidentally, is probably irrelevant.

It's very possible that the advertiser isn't the owner but is aware that the dog is at risk and wants to help her. It's also possible that it's a scam. I can only ask you to come back to us when and if you hear from the advertiser please Hallow.

One thing for sure... the RSPCA won't give a toss, I'm afraid.

PS - I've just re-read my message and if anyone can make sense of it they deserve a medal!

Sorry all, it's been a long day and I am SHATTERED!

HalloweeseG · 01/11/2010 22:39

Thank you Valhalla. I'll phone the number tomorrow and just enquire about "the dog" rather than specifying which dog/situation.

Thanks everybody :)

There's a name Adam Bojan on one of the ads. if that means anything to anyone!

HalloweeseG · 02/11/2010 08:37

And a girls name on the missing dog adverts. Really suspicious behaviour.

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 12:37

Also on the one of the ads for the ridgeback it states she's a girl yet the writer refer's to it as 'he' which implies it is not the writer's dog, and the writer maybe doesn't know the dog well.

And I know it can be hard to tell the difference sometimes, but that ridgeback remarkably like a Hungarian Vizsla to me!

'Kerry' states that Maisie and Yogi both went missing together but she doesn't say how. She says she thinks a man has them and won't give them back. I'm wondering if they've been taken by her ex partner. To be fair, all the dogs look healthy, and she talks about them being 'entire' which is a phrase most apathetic pet woners wouldn't use - unless they were backyard breeders of course.

FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 12:54

So, to re-cap, our Kerry is respnsible for the following:

She appears to own a lab/collie x who just happened to mate by accident in the park with a full breed collie, and she is selling the litter.

She appears to have owned another bitch, Maisie, a lab/spaniel x, who had a litter, resulting in the staff x puppy Yogi.

She has 'lost' Maisie and Yogi in the same unexplained incident.

She (or someone close to her) is selling a 6 month old Ridgeback (though I can't actaully see a ridge, and he/she is liver nosed like a vizsla) and they seem a bit unclear as to the sex.

And now she is trying to re-home a 2 year old mastiff. It doesn't appear to be hers, but she is very cagey about who it belongs to.

Vallhala · 02/11/2010 12:55

Fellatio, he does look like a Vizla, doesn't he? Last night, absolutely knackered, I referred to him as a Weinmaraner, previewed my post, realised that I'd dopily called him the wrong breed and edited it to read "Ridgeback", but was still looking thinking, "There's something not right about that, what have I done wrong?"!

D'oh!

FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 13:27

I have a vizsla, and I know they do look extremely similar to be fair, but I can see no ridge on this dog at all, and it makes me more suspicious that he/she has a self-coloured nose! Having said that, look they obviously exist. Maybe we are just being toooo suspicious now!

My next bit of mystery and intrigue is that in one of the adverts the above entry was a 6 month old Border terrier who needed re-homing at a price. It struck me as odd that the tel. no. had the same area code, so I donned my deerstalker in a Sherlock Holmes stylee, and I can announce that that advert appears to have been placed by Kerry's sister Lisa, who also sells horses, and runs a horse and carriage rental business and moves in very horse/dog circles. It was in her field where Maisie and Yogi went missing, and to be fair to Kerry she has placed ads on every lost dog site going.

It is possible, that Kerry and Lisa are just good samaritans who come into contact with alot of irresponsible dog owners, but I don't know - something still stinks to me.

FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 14:08

Vall I have PMed you on an another (unrelated) dog topic.

Alouiseg · 02/11/2010 14:37

Bloody hell Sherlock! Are you hiding a Bloodhound about your person??

FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 14:53

Grin Silver End and Feering. We could go round and stake them out. In dark glasses. With notebooks. But they might be gypsies and they might chase us and kill us. Shock

FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 14:54

Did you phone up yet? I'm starting to feel like I know these people.

Alouiseg · 02/11/2010 14:59

No I havnt, I can't rehome a mastiff much as I would love to. If we find out they're up to no good nothing is going to happen. The police won't get involved and the RSPCA won't care.

Unless we buy all their dogs from them and convert your barn into kennels?
FellatioNelson · 02/11/2010 15:04

Oh Thanks! My neighbours fucking hate me already!

Alouiseg · 02/11/2010 15:17

Ha ha, you could always give them a dog as a neighbourly gift :o
