What the hell has got into my pup?

Percy is 8-1/2 months old. For some time now he has been very well settled, placid, soft as anything, plays a lot, then sleeps a lot etc.

Today something has got into him. Or rather, tonight, something has got into him. He is sniffing everything, going right into our faces, trying to get everything from the counter tops, tables - basically wants to chew stuff to bits. It's like he's got really hyper? It sounds like normal dog stuff when writing it down - but it's not normal for him. It truly is like he's hyper.

Nothing out of the usual today to eat. Any ideas?

any fireworks been going off to make him unsettled?

To be honest, your post has described my 5 month old dogs behaviour on most evenings! Grin

I was told that dogs behave like this in the evening as it goes back to their 'wolf' days when they used to hunt at twilight and at night ?

I have a 5 month old pup she is usually knackerd in the evening.

my pup went through phases like this when ever she was teething. it really unsettled her.

make sure he has good teething toys.

as he is getting bigger he could be in need of more exercise, especially if going through a growth spurt.

Thank you peeps. Grin at your pups being like this most evenings Grin.

Avantia - yes, he has been behaving like a wolf!! But he usually sleeps most of the night.

Mumatron - deffo a teething stage I think as he had been knawing on a bone most of the day.

Re fireworks - no, none last night. I'm hoping he's going to be Ok as our house is soooo noisy most of the time it'll be just like normal for him Grin!

could be teething, could be a hormone burst, could be more exercise is needed. Maybe he has found some Halloween sweets and scoffed them and is full of E number!
