How easy is it to house train a Whippet puppy?

I'm fairly sure that I am just being a bit PFW with Poppy but could she be house trained already?

I got up this morning and there was no poo or puddles anywhere. DH would not have cleaned it for me, so she must have been clean over night.

I took her into the yard this morning and she emptied her bladder immediately. I then gave her breakfast and after about 15 mins (just before I was about to take her out anyway) she started pacing and whining. I take her into the yard and she immediately poos.

It's just wishful thinking, no?

Rudy was very easy, they are generally very clean dogs.

He wasn't keen on peeing in the rain though, but we have got their now.

Do you still think you won't be able to keep her?

Oh she is fine in the rain. It's been pissing down here all day. I got her a little jumper to keep her warm and dry.

I don't know about keeping her. Dh is, imo, being quite nasty about it. One minute he is saying how much he would like to keep her if Scruff is okay and if his training starts kicking in and we will 'see how things go' making me think we will be able to keep her, but then if someone (usually the dc) upset him he says he wants her gone asap. Despite her or Scruff not actually doing anything wrong.

I'm emailing the rescue, but will continue training her and just see if DH calms down. At the moment he seems to be using her as an excuse to get away with doing sweet FA in the house or with the dc. If I want another dog then I can't complain about not having enough time to do the house work and things with the dc.
