My dog went to the vet today for a dental and teeth extraction. She had 22 teeth taken out.

I picked her up from the vet at 5:00pm and she was still dripping blood but they said not to worry and that was normal. She's still dripping blood, not loads but a steady drip. Is that OK does anyone know?

I have no idea but if only for the sake of peace of mind urge you to call your vet and ask their advice.

I hope the brave little soul is okay and will soon be herself again.

Give them a call. There will be a vet on duty who will be only too happy to advise you.

Have just rung Tesco as it says on my pet insurance that I have a 24hr emergency vet line. What a pile of misleading, crap. Rang the number and spoke to someone at Tesco and all they do is search for a vet in my area and give me the phone number! I know the bloody vet's phone number without having to ring Tesco. The way its worded is that its a free service provided by Tesco pet insurance for their customers.

Anyway am off to ring the vet. Tomorrow I'm cancelling the bloody pet insurance.

No probs. Let us know how she gets on, please Wink

Vet thinks she sounds ok, says it will be more saliva than blood and look worse than it is. She's otherwise alert and ok, infact she's just decided to try some food.

I feel so sorry for her she's obviously very hungry but it must hurt to eat.

I had insurance with Tesco and didn't think much of it. I'm now with Argos but so far, haven't had to make a claim. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I know gums bleed a lot which would explain the reason for still bleeding so much later. But you do need to consider how much blood she has lost compared to how much blood she has. I wouldn't be happy or relaxed if my dog was still dripping blood. Hope the vets can advise you.
