I had an emergency one and it was fine. No pain during. There was pain during the recovery period but then you're in control of the medication yourself so that helps. From the third day onwards I only used paracetamol.

Seeing my baby for the first time was my best day ever. I'd very happily do it again.

@mumsyx good luck today, just think you'll have you're baby in your arms, hope all goes well and enjoy them new born cuddles 🥰

I've just come across this thread and just wanted to say hope everything went well for you yesterday and you're enjoying baby snuggles.
I had an emergency section 10 months ago and the staff were amazing. I was terrified as baby was at risk and they were fantastic at keeping me calm.
I hope your experience was as relaxed as possible and you were well looked after.

I was very nervous about my c section and think they took pity on me and let me go first. The worst bit was placing the cannula and anaesthetic. My surgery was absolutely fine. The actual surgery was so quick I just shut my eyes and tried not to think about it, and then for the second bit the baby is here and you couldn’t care less what’s happening behind the curtain. Good luck x
