DH has been kicked out to watch it at a mates; I am planning on reading the newspaper, starting my new book and having a cheeky takeaway. WCWs (world cup widows) sign in....

I can't watch it as no tv here

lovecheese · 12/06/2010 19:10

Where are you ruckyrunt? In a tent? Capping the oil pipe for BP?

ruckyrunt · 12/06/2010 19:10

at home - why?

lucykate · 12/06/2010 19:11

dh doesn't like football

lovecheese · 12/06/2010 19:13

I would happily chuck the TV out of the window but fear I would be stopped. lucykate - you are a lucky gal!

I'm single - no football here, yay!

Although if DS doesn't go to bed I may end up putting it on for him.

minimammoth · 12/06/2010 19:21

Me and DH are declaring our house a football free zone. The aim is not to watch any at all even accidentally, we will be avoiding news bulletins too. I am sure it can be done

jodevizes · 12/06/2010 19:48

Yes, but can you avoid the footie promos? The BBC TV and radio are wall to wall promos.

Sadly even though I am desperately trying to avoid it, as I look up there are two huge flags of St George staring me in the face. Oh Dear.

turkeyboots · 12/06/2010 19:55

Football free here (apart from the roars from the neighbours. DH is watching Doctor Who and I'm enjoying the speedy broadband that none else is on!

MrsOCD · 12/06/2010 20:00

I would just like to let you know that I invited the neighbours round for "pre-match" drinks. We drank wine, beer, ate Dorito's and Kettle Chips (sooo posh) and then they went home, kids went to bed exhausted and (Ssssshhh), without a bath and HE has football on and I have laptop and intend to watch Come Dine With Me and Luther on the Laptop.
Marvelous.
Come on Einnn-gerrrr-laaand.

  • I did partake heavily in pre-match drinks.

Footie free here too after years of being subjected to wall-to-wall football, X is gone and I don't have to watch it so I am not going to. I am going to eat the sort of "poncey" food he hated and drink some nice white wine. Don't know what to do - DVD or book....... anything but football. My road is very St George aka sad sack middle aged-ought-to-know-bettr types except the next doors who have kids between about 5 and 10 so I reckon they have an excuse. Twill just be a lager and vomit fest for the rest of 'em.

unfitmother · 12/06/2010 20:03

DH and Dcs all watching it it the living room, thank God for the study!

Rockbird · 12/06/2010 20:04

Not watching it here. I'm admiring my new light shade while watching Come Dine with Me on the catch up. DH detests football and DD is too young to care. Happy days

MrsSantos · 12/06/2010 20:14

Where did you lucky ladies land your football-loathing men?

unfitmother · 12/06/2010 20:15

DH is an ABE but is footie mad.

FernieB · 12/06/2010 20:16

Rockbird - what colour is your light shade?

We are also football free but only cos the satellite is playing up and our UK TV has gone all fuzzy. DH has taken himself off to watch a film upstairs and kids have gone with him.

ThatVikRinA22 · 12/06/2010 20:19

im on here while DH is glued with a bottle of beer fused into his hand. he doesnt normally drink!

seems quite on here though, am i in a minority?

unfitmother · 12/06/2010 20:20

I was hoping it would be busier.

LoveMyGirls · 12/06/2010 20:21

I'm here, DH is out watching it, dd1 watching tv, dd2 in bed, I'm mn-ing and baking and cleaning up, planning on having a vodka and reading my book in a bit happy days!

lovecheese · 12/06/2010 20:23

Kids in bed. And relax. OH Gawd, hearing horns honking outside, does this mean that IN-GER-LAND are winning and the agony is going to go on longer???

OP posts:
Rockbird · 12/06/2010 20:26

It's far from exciting Fernie here but house is being done up after many years of being like Steptoe's yard so the slightest things make me happy

It looks better lit up

lovecheese · 12/06/2010 20:27

Thats another thing, women wearing football shirts, is it ever acceptable? (yes I know not strictly anything to do with TV but I have digressed, as in my life; what happened to the career in social work, the 2CV and the flat in Notting Hill?)

OP posts:
Rockbird · 12/06/2010 20:29

I have worn a football shirt and on national tv I am, despite my stance against the world cup, an Arsenal fan and I went with dad, brother and football hating DH to Islington to see Arsenal bring home the Premiership cup a few years back. We were accosted by the BBC and asked if we wanted to be interviewed. Sooooo embarrassing, I looked like a fat bloke!

2old4thislark · 12/06/2010 20:29

DH watching footie at Cricket club - I'm watching a film and drinking red wine

OmicronPersei8 · 12/06/2010 20:33

I'm on MN, DH doesn't like football that much but is watching it so that he can fit in at work, I think. Sad really.
