We missed the end - well second half actually as youngest was sick everywhere!! At the point we left she was still trying to get a job and things were looking grim. Can any one fill me in PLEASE!!!!!

JanH, that programme was great. Thought Rhubarb was so strong and brave!! Funnily enough, when I was a student in Bordeaux I worked at St Joseph de Tivoli for a year as a 'playground supervisor' (pionne!), couldn't believe it when Rhubarb went there

Janh · 11/08/2005 10:22

They are still in France, Rhubarb isn't posting atm because she hasn't got regular access to a PC. (She was posting from a PC at Tivoli earlier in the year on Fridays, the staff have wine with lunch and we got some quite tiddly posts from her but only on threads with no even slightly dodgy words due to school's profanity filter )

But I had an email last week saying they are getting a PC soon and she hopes to be online again by Sept - which is great news because there was a chance that they would have to come back this summer so obviously that's not happening now.

figleaf, Rhubarb found a part-time job and her DH got some part-time work too, which cheered him up! DD is happily settled into a French school and DS goes to nursery and they have rented a lovely house in a village outside Bordeaux.

Raspberry, very little "puppeteer" as I understand it. They had a great relationship with the crew and really missed them when they stopped coming!

Rhubarb · 12/08/2005 15:41

No, no puppetry going on! They did try to lead the conversation at certain points, but there is nothing we said that was not heartfelt or meant at the time that we said it. I have posted on the other thread, but we are still in France, dh is working for a French company and I'm back at the school in Sept. Kids are blossoming, dd is now bilingual and ds just sort of plods along, just like his dad! Only staying for another year though, that was my guarantee to dh as he still doesn't like it all that much. Hoping another year will change his mind, but if not I guess I will just have to take what comes.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Are you still in the same house?

Your DD and DS are soooooo lovely

Bonne chance for the Rentree, Rhubarbe, so glad dh has got some more work lined up this year.
I really enjoyed the programme, thought it was well done (don't usually watch VR-type thingies as hate to see people exploited, but knew you got on so well with the crew) and very, very inspiring. You were just brilliant.
I hope one more year turns it around for dh and he is convinced to stay.

Sh*t ---

just realised I still have Janh's video of this

anorak · 08/09/2005 12:47

Does anyone know if this is going to be repeated because at the time my brain was not functioning too well and I got my days muddled up and missed it!
