I feel so strongly that this has crossed the line. I hope they didn't show this bit again on the Ch4 repeat this morning - does anyone know? It's just all so scummy and degrading. Only caught the end of it as I promised I'd not be watching again after kinga went in.

This is so so so depressing, so many impressionable younger people watch this. It's made me really

basketcase · 03/08/2005 09:16

KINGA !!!!!! O-M-G!!!!!
Outrageous. I would have loved to have been a fly on the walls in the BB?s camera room, I bet they were pannicking, worrying if they were going to have to take it off air again
I feel so sorry for her family, she will never ever ever live down the bottle thing
Ant?s face was a treat
I loved it when Makosi tried to have a little chat with her - tears followed by totally forgetting all of it and pumping up the outrageous slapper routine AGAIN
Glued to the screen but can hardly stand it..

compo · 03/08/2005 09:21

I'm really shocked they showed that too. I was just starting to like Kinga but that was really going way too far. And she definitely put it up there because she showed Craig. Can you imagine poor Eugine or Derek clearing away the bottle from the gareden in the morning - gross! Wouldn't be surprised if she didn't get thrush or cystits from doing that

Kinga must feel like shite the morning after the night before

nae luck nutter

I'd love to know what davina and dermott really think of this year's BB. They're both fairly moral people i think, and it must be hard trying to parade this crap as entertainment. I heard Mark Frith (editor of heat) interviewed on the radio last week and he said he though BB had got it wrong with the selection of housemates this year, which I was pleasantly surprised to hear him say as heat usually won't fault BB.

By the way a very chilling thought occured to me last night. I wonder who will get this reference and agree with me:

Craig = Modern-Day Kenneth Halliwell???!!!!

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 09:28

i'm surprised kinga didn't get an air lock with that bottle

compo · 03/08/2005 09:29

I see what you mean Moomin!

basketcase · 03/08/2005 09:31

moomin- interested to hear that Mark Frith thought they had got it wrong.
Personally I do think they have scraped the barrel with Kinga. It is totally unnecessary and a little irresponsible to put someone in so obvious immature and clearly not able to comprehend how her behaviour now will affect her rl and her family?s rl afterwards.

I don?t think they have totally got it wrong as there has been some priceless moments that has caused no end of discussion and entertainment - just look at the number of threads and total posts to see evidence of that.

compo · 03/08/2005 09:33

but Basketcase, Kinga is 20!!!! People have babies younger than that. Surely at 20 you know not to pleasure yourself with a bottle on live TV. And she does know the consequences because of what she did first time round. Her dad said he hoped she'd tone it down so obviously has had a word with her

sweetkitty · 03/08/2005 09:35

OMG Kinga what a sad attention seeking cow saw a bit of the live feed yesterday (the morning after) and she said she was really drunk and kept apologising.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 09:36

and then to go and lie on the grass and mastubate!!!

Moomin · 03/08/2005 09:36

But I've found the MN threads to be more entertaining than the actual programme this year! BB is and probably always will be a talking point that many people have in common between May and August each year so that's why people enjoy discussing it - everyone has an opinion.

But I think they need to consider the mix of people very carefully for next year. Too many of the housemates were too young (not just chronologically) and just looking at the audition tapes on the 1st night, the makers of BB seemed to pick the most controversial and aggressive people they could, so that they could try to replicate the viewing figure for last year when they had all the big kick-offs.

Thing is, though, you need a balance and I did genuinely find BB more entertaining last year as I actually liked a number of the housemates and was rooting for them.

I couldn't give a monkey's this year, and that truely is the 1st time I've said that as I've watched every year bar none.

basketcase · 03/08/2005 09:38

I agree compo that she should know better and be more self aware. However, you just have to see her for two minutes to realise that she doesn?t and acts like a hyper 14 year old. Surely BB knew exactly what they were likely to get. Just have a slight twinge that they are taking advantage of her naivety and immaturity a little by allowing her to go on national tv tanked up and ready go?

Ok - maybe it is all her fault and I am just trying to find any excuse at all to explain away how on earth a 20 yr old girl in her right mind would stick a bottle inside her - in front of two housemates and the whole world... as I can?t think of any way at all, find myself blaming BB instead Not particularly logical of me

Moomin · 03/08/2005 09:43

why not blame BB, basketcase! I think this year, more than any other, there has been a real need to BB to intervene a lot more. By that, I mean give out sensible advice, e.g. to makosi on the pg fiasco; to Craig (Halliwell) about personal space and Anthony (Orton) on how to handle things; to intervening much more strongly when Maxwell put the scab on science's dinner; and generally not allowing some of the racism that went on earlier without giving clear warnings.

Kinga should have a warning about last night, imo. What she did was potentially dangerous (Fatty Arbuckle, anyone?) and extremely irresponsible and BB were as much to blame by allowing it to pass without comment.

I'm not really Mary Whitehouse btw! But BB has wound me up.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 09:46

but do you not think if bb did intervene then it would be no longer of entertainment the program, the whole idea is you stick them all in a house together and leave them to there own devices

compo · 03/08/2005 09:47

I think they do warn them and they get psychologists to see them but none of that is aired. BB offered Makosi the MAP but that wasn't aired

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 09:48

as if she would of needed it!

Moomin · 03/08/2005 09:51

but then according to that agument you could have a 'lord of the flies' scenario and we'd all just sit and watch them. Like someone else said previously - what next - eating each other? Surely there has to be some sort of moral line? Or of not, then Ch4 have to stop broadcasting it in the mornings of school holidays.

One thing that has made me laugh recently: Davina always talks to the house 9.25pm on a FRiday, after 20 mins of footage from that day containing every swear word known to man, the only one being bleeped out is 'cnt'. Why not, then address the house as follows: "This is Davina. You are live on Channel 4. Please do not say 'cnt'."

It's all so hypocritcal!

vickiyumyum · 03/08/2005 09:52

i'm not easily shocked, but i was watching bb last night. kinga went way too far!
i thought that the pool incident was abit much especially all the fiasco with makosi saying she was preganant! (stupid cow, shes a nurse for gods sake) and all of makosis false tears i can't bear it. but kinga she is never going to live this down, at least jade goody was known for things other than giving pj a bj, notably being stupid (but then again how stupid can she be shes made over a million and has a successful business as well)but kinga that is going to stick forever, each time she goes out someones going to remind her of it!

compo · 03/08/2005 09:54

And Sam got loads of stick and all she did was pretned to masturbate in a box which Craig and Maxwel actually did do but no one thought that was grim. Why is it one rule for blokes and another for girls. Shows like BB give masturbation a bad name!

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 09:57

channel 4 don't broadcast the bad bits like kinga last night when they repeat it in the morning because i watched it again this morning and they missed that bit out.

I agree with the mastubation bit though it's fine and dandy for the men, they even showed craig on the settee, yet poor sam got ribbed.

Moomin · 03/08/2005 09:59

but who, seriously, masturbates with a wine bottle with an audience?! It's the kind of thing I thought went on when I was younger and didn't know sh*t from butter, going from hearsay and gossip from teenage parties, etc. and that's why many younger people thing it's 'minging' for girls but ok for boys; because they think that female orgams is achieved through having something shoved up them (sorry to be coarse). Really, I do despair.

[Must go and get dressed now and try to integrate myself back into RL before my blood pressure goes up.]

vickiyumyum · 03/08/2005 09:59

i think alot of it has to do with sound effects though, don't you agree? when sam pretended to masturbate she made a lot of noise, whilst craig sits there and silently has a fiddle under the covers! and kinga, well what more can be said?
