Glee for my girls?

Has anyone seen both the post-watershed and pre-watershed episodes of this?

I have really enjoyed it and think my 3DDs would as well, but I am a bit concerned with some of the adult themes.

Is the Sunday daytime showing very 'censored'?

I don't think there is any difference between them is there?

How old are your girls?

how old are your girls?

mine are nearly 12 and 13 and have both been watching the post watershed version (Sky+d). I'm hoping the more adult bits will either be totally understood or go completely over theirheads.

I did wonder if there might be questions afte Finn's techniques to stop himself but there weren't any.

Slartybartfast · 02/02/2010 22:21

your profile says 10, 8 and 6, so i would think too young.
i was on the albeit brief showing on sunday of the wanking ... and my girls are 12 and 10.
i hoped it went over their heads. but i think they are addicted already

DD1 and I are very much enjoying debating the finer points and merits of Mr Schu vs Finn.

Personally I'm favouring Mr Schu - Finn can't dance.

Yeah DDs are 10 and under SBF.

I am very careful about what they watch really, but am concerned that the 'don'tgiveahoot' parents at the school will just let their DCs watch it as it is abit High School Musical.

I don't particularly want my 3 to see someone trying to vomit over a toilet or listen to conversations about sperm swimming through a hot tub.

But I do sometimes feel as though my 3 think I'm a right meanie. and I do think the programme is good fun.

They've watched Mamma Mia several times and I was surprised that the bit about 3 dads wasn't questioned and so I'm wondering if some of the stuff I'm concerned about will just pass them by.

my mother mentioned to me recently that the first time i watched ace ventura...( at the age of about 13 ) it came to the end part where they discover the lady is a man and has hidden his appendage in his knickers... that i clearly didnt 'get it'.

its only upon rewatching it some 12 years later that i understand the story line.

i am a wee bit blonde mind you.

i'd be tempted to let them watch it- theres a lot of references that they probably wont get. and if they do- its never too late for a birds and the bees refresher!

Thanks bethjeff I think I agree with you - I remember watching Grease at 7 several times.

Watching it recently I was aghast at the adult themes in it and certainly I don't remember understanding them then.

So I think I'll give it a go and record sunday's episode and compare it then probably give it a go (and get my B&B refresher ready!)

Thanks.

My DDs are 10 and 7 and they love Glee. We record it on SkyPlus and watch it the next day. The more adult bits go right over their heads.

I cringe a bit when I watch grease now... It was my favourite and I wanted to be rizzo :s
