Giving a child a digital camera and instructing him or her to film their life could be risky, but for this new series it's paid off in spades. The result is a child's-eye view of all sorts of subjects, both important and flippant, presented without an adult's input or interference. The children's remarks range from breathtakingly perceptive to understandably childish and, at times, desperately sad. This programme about children with absent fathers features eight-year-old Ellen who meets her dad's new Japanese girlfriend in Tokyo, nine-year-old Kris from Scotland travels to Istanbul to visit his Turkish father (baba), and Mary, also nine, talks like a grown-up about her mother's depression and divorce.

I thought this programme was very moving. The children featured were incredibly articulate I thought. I found Kris' story especially touching (his disappointing trip to Turkey to see his father was heartbreaking) - it was uplifting at the end to see him with his stepfather joking about the adoption papers. What a lovely lad!

I thought it was a smashing programme with great sadness in places. I really warmed to Kris' step-dad, what a nice, strong, reassuring guy. I thought his mum continuing to help Kris with his interest in the country and the Turkish language in the face of his birth father's huge indifference was really touching.
I was really saddened by the two little girls' experiences, especially the brave, tough, sweet little lass from Bristol.
