Reruns on BBC3 - what "old" programmes do you want to see?

We're abroad, and getting a satellite dish/Sky would cost a fortune in our new house. We get BBC1 and 2, plus local channels (who show a lot of UK and American stuff with local subtitles).

Our digital TV provider has recently added BBC3 and 4 to the offering (and Cbeebies etc) which is great. So there are some great comedy programmes on, but DH seems to record mammoth collections of Batman and the Avengers.

If they have to show "old" stuff, why can't we have some Poldark, or Little House on the Prairie? Hey, I'd like to see the Waltons or something, or Blakes 7!

What would you like to see brought back?

There was another afternoon one called The Cedar Tree - my mum was addicted, anyone remember it?

Would love to see Roots again I have quite vivid memories of it although I must have been really young when it was on. Chicken George, Kunta Kinte (sp) etc.

Mother Love was on one of the satellite channels a couple of years back and watching it - still outshone anything on tv just now.

Poldark is also on another satellite channel, it was shown on UKTV Gold or Drama a few years back so I have them on my sky box to watch again and again.

I'd love them to show Tales of The Unexpected again as well. Maybe even Mad Death too. Y'know, something light and cheery!

The Duchess of Duke Street! We met her, "the duchesse" on a train going to Birmingham once (in the mid 70s). She and my nan compared knitting .

John 'To Serve them All My Days' Duttine is now in Heartbeat. DH will not believe me he was a bit of a hearthrob in his day! Glad to see someone else remembers him.

margotfonteyn · 12/06/2009 20:10

Thats HEARTthrob, not hearth-throb obviously
