Did anyone see the documentary on Kirsten O'Brien (SMART) on BBC3 last night?

I am so cringing for her.

Why would you ask the editor of FHM if you are in the same league as Caroline Flack and the black woman (Angelina??) from Blue Peter?

Why would you learn to pole dance then even when Peter Stringfellow tells you not to bother doing a display for him, you go ahead and do it anyway and he says it's terrible???

This is a bit obscure but hope someone saw it! Need to discuss!!!!!

I saw the second half of it, and DH left the room cuz he thought the show was total crap. I got hooked on it, and watched it the whole way to the end.

I've never thought she was a 'sexy' woman. Yes, she's quite good looking and has a good figure, but she doesn't seem to be a pole-dancing sex kitten. But that's okay!

I just seemed a bit crass that she was going door to door to magazines and the clubs to look for someone/anyone to tell her that actually she is sexy/attractive/valued.

It's sad that that is where she gets her feeling of worth from

To be honest, it also made me feel quite bad about my self-esteem and how I look too.

An interesting show, but not a good one.

You're so right, it affected the way I think about myself for those 45 mins I watched it - til I shook myself down and thought about it clearly.

She's funny, talented, pretty, slim, successful and obviously a really decent person. Who could ask for anything more?

Her dad said he wanted to see her present Newsnight. He looked really uncomfortable at the whole thing.

And what has Angelica done since the naked photoshoot?

extremelychocolateymi, in my opinion, that women are equal to men is accepted as normal by many young women today, and as a result feminism is seen as either outdated or irrelevant to them.

Normal in theory but not in practice - witness woeful gap between what men and women are paid and the way men and women are portrayed in the media. In many music videos you see women looking like prostitutes and the guys looking like their pimps.
