There was the sweetest trailer/ad for CBeebies just before QI last night

I'm still smiling thinking about it. It was clips of children dancing in their living rooms to the number rap by Sid and Andy.

Oh I saw that and thought it was lovely too.

hippipotami · 15/01/2009 08:45

I love that one
Especially the little girl at the end who holds up three (?) fingers, says 'three' and then looks at her fingers and goes 'oh' She is fab!!

Loved QI last night, it was one of the funniest ones for a long time

oops, overdone it on the smilies...

bran · 15/01/2009 08:46

I especially loved the little girl at the end holding up two fingers and trying to work out whether she was right or wrong.

I think I may be broody, or possibly just a bit unbalanced from the virus I'm still getting over.

Cross with Hippi.

It was a good QI last night, although I fear Alan Davies is hamming it up a bit too much. He must have learned something other than tired cliches at school surely.

Ah, it was two fingers Either way, she was brill!
And some of those boys were groovy movers too! Fab

hippipotami · 15/01/2009 08:48

Agree bran - found Alan a bit over the top... but despite that, I laughed more than I usually do at QI...

They do a strange 3 in the number rap IMO. I would do 3 by holding my little finger into my palm with my thumb, but they do it by bending down the ring and little finger which I find quite hard to do.

Agree, for me three is made up by thumb, index and middle fingers...

Still, we will let them off, just this once

I think the difference between a good QI and a dull one is Stephen Fry. When he's in good form it flows well and it can go wildly off script and be even funnier. It's a bit like a game of tennis, he sort of bounces the contestants' jokes back at them and makes them funnier. You can definitely tell when he's down as he pretty much sticks to what's written in front of him and he doesn't really respond to what others are saying. Although, saying that, it's obvious that at his worst he is at least as good as an ordinary presenter, it's not that he's ever bad, it's just that his best is fab.

Stephen Fry was definately on good form last night! I really liked Rob Brydon as well.

bran · 15/01/2009 10:10

Rob Brydon is so fab at knowing when not to say anything isn't he? He never over-eggs a joke.

I just love Rob, am kicking myself, he is performing in our town next month but I completely forgot to order tickets in the autumn like dh asked me to....
BIL and SIL are going and are rubbing it in at every opportunity

PortAndLemon · 19/01/2009 07:50

DS does try to do 3 like that, though. I think he thinks that you have to start at one end when selecting a number of fingers.

PortAndLemon · 19/01/2009 07:51

(why am I posting random thoughts about counting on fingers on an old thread? I must need more coffee...)

anyone found this advert on Youtube - I've not seen it yet
