me, don't you think Carole Vordaman looks very odd indeed?
Like a northern Nigella Lawson fembot? Stretched

Don't make me sob on my own when McFly arrive!!!

Merlin · 01/10/2008 20:59

I'm running out of tissues here! That Headteacher was amazing!

Tutter · 01/10/2008 21:00

i'm afraid so

i like a good cry

MaureenMLove · 01/10/2008 21:09

PMSL @ Prince Charles! A drive-thy restaurant!!! They went to MaccyD's then!

nolongeraworriedmummy · 01/10/2008 21:11

me, can we please clone the headteacher? If all heads were that enthusiastic a hell of a lot of children/parents and teachers would be a whole lot happier.

elsiepiddock · 01/10/2008 21:12

I have opted not to watch it.

Dh is away so I could have a complete weep fest on my own. But I can't face it.

PinkPussyCat · 01/10/2008 21:27

That poor woman who reported her own sons for assault - her story nearly finished me off

OP posts:
Sidge · 01/10/2008 21:31

I have had to pretend to DH that I am getting a cold to explain my sniffles

These people are amazing.

nolongeraworriedmummy · 01/10/2008 21:33

that 9 year old in the stabbing attack on his mother. How brave was he

MaureenMLove · 01/10/2008 21:35

Everytime DH comes out to the kitchen, I keep asking for a cuddle! He's getting fed up now!

The children's faces are a picture when they meet their heroes. Shame that lad didn't even acknowledge Louis Walsh!

nolongeraworriedmummy · 01/10/2008 21:37

his face when he realised "batman" was coming though. How lovely to think that 9 year olds still have that innocence (sp?).

Chopchopmissy · 01/10/2008 21:39

can you do watch again on it - thought I saw someone I used to work with!

PinkPussyCat · 01/10/2008 21:57

Oh god yes that poor wee boy whose mum was stabbed...

I am on my own too...

Tillyboo · 01/10/2008 22:12

Me & dh sobbed all the way through it - how truly humbling.

kiwibella · 01/10/2008 22:38

I enjoy this every year - it is such a lovely tribute to the heroic britains out there... it's in us all .

IfYouDidntLaughYoudCry · 02/10/2008 11:04

I saw a bit of it and was crying within two minutes.

Think I would've been disappointed if I was that little lad who got Cat Deeley as the presenter of my trophy though, surely they could have found someone more relevant.

Very lovely show, though.

Carol Vorderman's dress was nice too.

bobsyouruncle · 02/10/2008 11:08

sobbed all the way through it, then went to bed for a good sob and still a bit weepy this morning. Cat Deeley ffs, poor little lad!? Thought Louis Walsh moment very funny too

TwoIfBySea · 02/10/2008 20:45

I've never watched this before, it was indeed humbling. I remember the news story of that little boy whose mum was stabbed and thinking then what a brave little boy he was.

I loved that clip from a previous show with the 999 call of the little girl saying her mum had a 'bad belly' and then saying 'Theres a baby coming out of her! Oh mum!' That was so sweetly funny!

falcon · 02/10/2008 21:18

I love watching this but I think every one deserves to have their story heard in full and therefore they should allow 2 1/2 hours for it.

I felt so sorry for the man who saved the toddler from a dog attack, he was just mentioned briefly and I wanted to know more.
