Am I the ONLY sad bastard that thought Britain from the Air excellent?

Or whatever it was called.

Thrilling telly.

I loved it and let DS1 stay up to watch and learn. And Andrew Marr: you couldn't possibly fancy him (well, 'spect his wife does?) but his clipped public school vowels do something to me('Fleying through the clyds'...)

Sky+ it. Haven't managed to watch it. Can't wait. Did it have bad reviews then ?

I think people just assumed it was a very "nerdy" programme, Oblomov

When DH saw the advert for it the other day he remarked "Am I sad for thinking that looks like a good programme?" I was too busy setting the Sky+ to answer

Great piece of TV (esp after the drivel that is out there at the mo). Makes you realise that politicians do not run this country but little men in helicopters and dim control rooms do. Found the sister programme on BBC2 very interesting too. That kind of thing fascinates me, how places have changed, yet there are still landmarks to show the old.

As someone with a real interest in geography I found it quite interesting, and will watch next week ...... BUT .....

I did feel it was a bit London-centric (like so much on the BBC).

The bloke controlling the electricity made us snigger, because he seemed to be trying to turn his role into something hugely exciting and critical, whereas 99.8% of the time it's going to be deathly dull and predictable. I bet he goes home and build Eiffel towers out of matchsticks, or something.

Have watched it now. Really enjoyed it. LOL at Andrew Marr = Wallace
I found it deeply... depressing really. I mean our trains , there is nothing thant can be done, to improve our archaic system becsue we can't have longer trains without money spent on platforms and no double decker trains becasue of our old bridges.

And the motorway driving - imaginary traffic jam, just becasue one person brakes a bit too hard.

I found it very interesting. But very sad. Becasue there are no solutions.

I have it on Sky+ and it says that it has a series link, so I am assuming that there is atleast one more episode. Oh yes, at the end, Wallace did say... next week .....

Can't wait.

sparked off a convo with my Dh about how to hit their targets as being 'on time', UK trains have to arrive within 10 minutes of schedule. In Japan it is 10 seconds...

Ho hum.

We really enjoyed it too. I kept thinking we'd turn the channel over, but it was just so interesting.

I watched it last night sky plus!

I thought it was very good, but also very London centric too.

Maybe we will see more of the country in episodes to come
