Big thanks to all of you that recommended One Tree Hill. Am only watching the first season and am only halfway through (although all the trailers for the current season are spoiling it for me slightly...) but am really enjoying it.

I love a bit of teen angst once dd has gone to bed. Although the ironing still isn't getting done...

Wear crumpled clothes forever and just enjoy!!!!

Pinkjenny · 06/08/2008 13:31

And I complain I have no 'me time'.

Ha!

OP posts:
LostGirl · 06/08/2008 13:36

I use my 'me time' to watch OTH, GG, etc etc, how sad is that!

Cappuccino · 07/08/2008 14:01

I have never watched this and I WILL NOT BE SUCKED IN

however I get what you say about teen angst

I watched all four series of the OC last year when I was chronically ill and very good they were too

Cappuccino · 07/08/2008 14:02

also I tape Smallville to watch whilst ironing

so there's an idea

it's not like the plots take a whole lot of concentration - I haven't burnt anything yet

Pinkjenny · 07/08/2008 14:03

Go on Cappuccino... you'll love it, I promise you...

no no no no no

if dh sees anything else appear in the BT Vision recorded menu he may well blow

there are about 3 series of Smallville and a series of Dr Who in there already

Pinkjenny · 07/08/2008 14:06

Well my dh has 11, yes count em, 11 episodes of The Bill to watch on Sky +. So he can't complain about my teenage drama habit, now can he!!

Ooo, what's smallville like? There is a void in my viewing schedule now Gossip Girl has finished.

Cappuccino · 07/08/2008 14:14

it's vapid and pretty

Cappuccino · 07/08/2008 14:15

that's not a criticism

LostGirl · 07/08/2008 14:21

vapid and pretty is about all my brain can handle at 4am

Cappuccino · 07/08/2008 14:26

there you go then

Pinkjenny · 07/08/2008 14:26

Someone recommended Brothers and Sisters to me as well - although that's more grown up angst than teen angst.

FGS, woman, you're 31!!!!!!!

OP posts:
LostGirl · 07/08/2008 14:32

I'm 30, we really are old enough to know better aren't we. Will try and cut back (as soon as I've finished watching High School Musical with dd1 )

Pinkjenny · 07/08/2008 14:34

Oooh, I cannot wait for dd to start watching all that stuff!

Yay! Seriously, I cannot wait. But she's only 14mo so a while to go yet.

OP posts:
LostGirl · 07/08/2008 14:36

I think I will have to take dd1 to ciema to see HSM3 when it comes out, as a special treat for her of course!

LostGirl · 07/08/2008 14:37

Oh dear, will I still be using her as an excuse in eight years time to cover up the fact that I will still be watching teen television? Do they do anonymous help groups for people like us?

Pinkjenny · 07/08/2008 14:38

Oh yes, I would think so. It's so important for mums and daughters to do things together, IMHO.

OP posts:
LostGirl · 07/08/2008 14:40

My thoughts exactly. It's important to know what they are watching, lets jsut call it research

annaje · 07/08/2008 18:20

Mums and daughters would probably like Gilmore Girls - currently running on E4 in the mornings - I've only just found it - but it is very good and mighty funny - and for all those enjoying OTH - it does have "Lucas" in it - it also has the guy who plays Peter Petrelli in Heroes and the gorgeous Jared from Supernatural - covers all bases IMO

Pinkjenny · 08/08/2008 09:20

Ooooh, will make a mental note once I get through with OTH.

Thanks annaje.
