HOUSEKEEPING :

Doing weekly threads as was agreed to at the start of the series by the majority. But this means for the first time this series we’ve got an unfinished thread. People are also posting still on the end of Week Two. Chat split over 3 threads isn’t great. If we could all move over to this thread and stick to it, that would be great

CHEERS

KEEP DANCING 💃

I think Jojo is trying too hard to look different and just ends up looking daft. I don’t like his taste in clothes at all

Edited

I think he looks fabulous. He's tall and gorgeous and graceful, and his Strictly outfits highlight all those qualities beautifully. He wouldn't look right in a black suit or whatever

It was definitely the right bottom 2 but I hope Shaun goes next week. Unless there is a miraculous improvement of course.

This! He’s truly awful & should have gone over Melanie.

Totally - I rewound & watched it again & it was definitely weird. Emma asked her if she was ok too when she was speaking to her so it was unusual.

I thought she’d hurt herself..

Yes, it looked as if she’d maybe hurt herself trying to get back up, then Emma asking if she was okay…? Nikita also appeared to be saying something to her when she was still down…

He’s not choosing alone in a dark room. Wardrobe are just as much to blame!

I think wardrobe make it happen but the cast choose what they want to wear and look like - the outfit is definitely Johannes style

look at Emma - she hasn’t looked awful like Tess once - defo picking her own outfits

B9waiting · Yesterday 20:50

Their legs looked quite intertwined in some way so I wasn’t sure if they’d ended up tangled by accident or it was meant to end that way.

2Rebecca · Yesterday 20:54

I don’t think you can blame wardrobe for what the judges and presenters wear. The dancers and celebs yes, but if I was a presenter I would not be appearing in any costume I disliked

What does jo Jo bring apart from calling everyone ‘my darling’

Agree. He's choosing those outfits for sure. He's not looked like a toffee penny yet so that's on my bingo card for next week.

I thought he was better upstairs last night when he was discussing the moves.

LlamaDuke · Yesterday 20:58

Just watching the results show for the first time this series and I don't understand why Josh doesn't get to do the chats with the saved dancers on his own, as he's so much better speaking off the cuff and being funny - it doesn't need Johannes to be there as well.

And is anyone else getting fed up with the proliferation of "darling" and "I'll tell you later" from him? Sorry to be a grump but I just find it a bit tedious.

Loved the group dance-off between Shirley and Anton though - it made me think that Anton would've made a pretty good Strictly host himself.

Absolutely! He's a flamboyant dresser, and why not?

2Rebecca · Yesterday 20:59

I tend to FF through the results show as I’m only interested in the dances and judging not the endless wittering on. I really enjoyed the pro dance but think Shirley should have refused to have a double for the flips as that detracted from how well she could actually dance. I didn’t care which of the celebs I’d never heard of went. I like Alijaz but his costume and all the faffing at the beginning let him down.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · Yesterday 21:09

But of course wardrobe are sourcing for presenters and judges as well! Really confused as to why they wouldn’t be! They aren’t bringing in their own clothes!

Well yes but it not a case case of Jojo saying I want a navy Saville Row suit and wardrobe give him purple satin wide leg trousers and a pink velvet top with a huge bow. It Jojo saying I want thinks like this - points at a box of Quality Street and wardrobe source a few options for him to choose from. Hence Jojo and Josh being dressed

Differently

I’m bewildered by Neil’s role. I loved that funky number they did, distracted nicely from a singer I didn’t enjoy.

But Neil- he never has a partner, what is his role? Is he a spare in case a pro is injured? Does he train everyone behind the scenes?

But they are being dressed as the roles they are playing. As pros they will wear the costumes provided for their roles. Emma's role is "Emma presenting strictly" and to put her in Tess dresses would not work but I wouldn't assume she is choosing her costumes - especially that awful dress in week 1.

MilkBreadToiletroll · Yesterday 22:02

I loved Emma's outfit on Saturday - so cool! The corset under the oversized suit looked great on her. Wouldn't look right on me but I can admire it on her. I'm looking forward to seeing what else she wears.

Is JoJo going for jewel colours? Is that why its coming across as Quality Street?

LochKatrine · Yesterday 22:26

What's all this "Jojo looking like Quality Street"?
That's how he chooses to dress, I think it's great!

I think Johannes joins in the chat and can add more about the dancing. I don't find him a problem at all, I think he's quite charming.
All three presenters make it about the dance, not about them. Which is the way it should be.

Babayagahaha · Yesterday 22:31

Johannes is awful for listening to, he speaks too quickly and doesn't enunciate anything. His clothing choices are bad.

I think he has very clear enunciation, and a fabulous wardrobe!

Babayagahaha · Yesterday 22:35

You must have very good hearing. He is terrible for lip reading from too because he turns his head a lot.

Not particularly! I have a hearing impairment.

Babayagahaha · Yesterday 22:40

So do I and I find him impossible to follow without subtitles. Wheras I can follow the judges without them.
