Pierre (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/david-harewood-channel-4-pierre-newsupdate/) stars Homeland and Supergirl favourite David Harewood (https://www.radiotimes.com/author/davidharewood/) as a London duty solicitor who sets out to investigate systemic police corruption following the suspicious death of his young Black client, Michael.

The new series will air on Monday 5 October on Channel 4 at 9pm

The official synopsis reads: "As Pierre challenges the police's portrayal of Michael as a criminal, he unravels a chilling web of institutional corruption. When you come at the system, the system comes at you..."

Harewood plays Pierre, a West London duty solicitor trying to balance the pressures of his work, his personal life and mounting financial difficulties.

His life becomes more complicated when he begins looking into the suspicious death of Michael, a young Black client.

As Pierre questions the police account of Michael and their attempts to portray him as a criminal, his investigation begins exposing a wider network of corruption.

Alongside Harewood, Pierre also stars Michele Austin (This Is Going to Hurt) as Charlotte Manners, Pierre’s joint managing partner of their solicitor’s firm, as well as Jason Flemyng (Boiling Point) as Pierre’s best friend, DS Ronnie Miller.

So seems the blond copper gave hooded man drugs and he planted them on Michel

so does that mean he wanted him dead or was just trying to frame him with drugs. Then he died

So Pierre was right when he thought the cop was suspicious . We'll find out more no doubt.

I wasn't keen on the first episode but it's hotting up now . Pierre must be worn out rushing from place to place, he seems to be in every scene !

I like this better than The Party

the80sweregreat · 13/10/2026 17:07

It is good and the acting looks real ! If that makes any sense. More corrupt police though :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2026 19:02

I didn’t get the sublime message with the pic /video - how his son found it for him

I like the acting and having three or four decent black actors in it, that seems natural and uncontrived.
On the downside, the plotting is rather contrived.
It clashes with Maigret on Talking Pictures TV - that is nicely done though the lead does a lot of heavy lifting as he doesn't interact much with his colleagues or subordinates (unlike Pierre). It's more like he's Poirot, though even the Belgium sleuth had a Hastings or someone to talk it through with.

Im really enjoying this. Surprised that quite a few don’t like it. It’s well acted and seems realistic. It’s also filmed round where I live.

daffodilandtulip · 22/10/2026 07:59

Seems sadly realistic. Although his wife is very patient.

Watched the first episode but didn’t enjoy it. The acting felt off somehow. Which was a surprise. None of the characters felt very natural. Plot was a bit dull. Shame.

I just watched the first episode and I completely agree. I was hyperaware of the acting, which is strange because David Harewood is usually great.

I felt the same about his acting, it felt very deliberate sixth form acting, everyone’s else’s didn’t seem so bad. I thought it was just me.

Blondeshavemorefun · Yesterday 09:27

Think only me enjoying it 😂
