Play for today is back for s2 after the success of s1

Single stand alone stories so no need to have watched s1 unless you fancy it

I'd forgotten about this. I gave up on S1 after a couple of eps. From what's been said, sounds like it's best to start with ep #2!

moto748e · 12/10/2026 01:06

Liked ep #2! Will dip in to the next one later.

Just watched this, was very realistic ( I was a nurse on nights on a surgical ward for years).

AutumnMuse · 19/10/2026 22:22

I missed the first 2 episodes.
Ep 3 - Laila and the guy had some sort of spark. Ah.. I was hoping they'd get their happy ending, but poor girl she was left shocked and upset by the end. And he couldn't fulfil his dream...

Ep4 - This episode has a bit of everything, the good, the bad and some sad moments.

Hi. Did you find working night shifts challenging?

Ohthedaffodils · 20/10/2026 07:21

@AutumnMuse yes because of staffing really. 32 bedded ward staffed by 2 RNs and 1 HCA. Shift was 9pm -7.30 am although we never got off in time. We had 1 hour unpaid break which you could never take because who would look after your 16 patients?
Used to do 7 nights on, 7 nights off.
In my 40 odd years of nursing this was my hardest role.

@Ohthedaffodils Thank you for sharing that. Sounds exhausting and you must have worked incredibly hard.
