Thank God for that result! It would have been really bad if they'd lost. The pressure really is on the doubles players to win. Saw last point and interview on DS's phone. Glad Kat aced Djok on match point A bit pointed by Henry about the short turnaround, given their opponents finished about an hour and 30mins ago and Kat seems to be troubled by her arm.
Less said about Sabalenka's outfit, the better
Unfortunately, Arevalo and Mladenovic have lost to Muchova and Mensik. Would have been good to have all the doubles players winning.

I’m so pissed off with the US open. Stan, the ridiculous mixed doubles qualifying/seeding, and now Katerina and Henry having to play another match straight away.

And I’m sure the crowd will annoy me too as they never shut up.

Yes I’m still very annoyed about Stan not getting a WC - I know that the Gael thing is reciprocal but I wouldn’t be surprised if the married mixed doubles aspect didn’t come into play

Even Wimbledon gave Stan a WC - he’s done a nice, dignified insta post about how much the US Open means to him - I still remember watching him win (even better as it was against Djok) - he swore live on air (that was bad a long time ago not so much now!)

And now we get Gael and Elina being interviewed at the change of ends - this is making me cross as well!
