Jannik has pulled out of the US Open due to his knee injury.

Gosh, I wasn't really expecting Jannik to pull out of USO. I thought all the discussion about his health was just fans being paranoid.

The injury problems on both the men's and women's sides is getting beyond a joke now. There needs to be a serious, independent investigation into what the possible causes are.....overloaded scheduling, 10 day Masters 1000 tournaments, balls, racquets, fatigue??? I may be looking back with rose-tinted glasses but I'm sure there never used to be this many injuries, that were quite serious and resulted in very lengthy lay-offs

Something really does need to to be done- but clearly it's falling on deaf ears with the powers that be. They are adding to the schedule, rather than making it shorter and it's all down to money.

It really is a shame for Jannik- and the tournaments.

Unsurprisingly, Draper is not playing the US Open either, though I think he was only in qualifying anyway.

Just caught the send of set 2 in the Keys/Bejlek match- Sara managing to draw level, after a lacklustre first set.

The wheels seem to be coming off for Sara in set 3, after going ahead early on.

Well done to Sara- she's having an excellent week- though that was a tough match.

I think we need to add “soft hands” to the tennis commentary cliches bingo card.
