I think they aren’t being as intense (media wise) with Arthur as with Henman and Murray with the expectations

It always amazes me how people from countries so far away from each other end up playing doubles together.

That fluffy mix thing does look like a bit of medieval armoury from a certain angle

I know- it's like they draw straws.

I still find it a bit sad that this final is held at such an odd time, way before the oher finals. But I don't think the US Open solution was the correct one.

Interestingly, I have just read that the US Open are adding a qualifying round to the Mixed this year- they seem to have realised the farce of only having one actual doubles specialist pair in the draw (who fortunately won)- so it will be open to more this time. Which is something, at least.

This ESPN article basically says everything we said at the time (and before it even happened, because it was obvious ).

This is why they need to stop trying to “improve” tournaments.

I preferred when the doubles was after the finals as well because you got to see more tennis to wind down with!
