I do agree and have always felt that the end RRP in retail has no reflection on value, at either end of the sphere, whether cheap or designer brands. But I am far more inclined to think a £2 or £3 top is not ethical and has no value to anyone and I would rather go without. I am happy for others to make their own choices, there are millions buying from the stores and others like it today.

I remember when, when in my teens, if I wanted to have the latest 'must be seen in item' I'd have to save up for it from Jane Norman and the like. Now it's all so cheap they come out with bags full the stuff.

jojo thank you for you response.

I second JojoMaman. I used to work in the rag trade, and visited all these factories.

High Street names all make a big thing about it, but a lot of it is unknowing. Anything with beads or sequins will have been done by hand. If it is cheap it has been done by children

Some shops have ethical policy, (I know Next do, and I think Monsoon does) Monsoon confuses me though. They have loads of beaded sequinned stuff.

Also I agree, the only place you can probably be sure no child labour has been used is Italy, UK, America and possibly Greece and Portugal.

Anywhere on subcontinent/pacific rim will probably have used child labour. It is up to governments of those countries.

Lucycat, can you get me a copy of that dvd, by any chance. Don't understand Iplayer....
