They finally put a good night match on and I had to go out! Back now - Matteo seems to be doing well - why did they let Mac commentate on a Rinderknech match when he can’t even say Arthur

I like seeing Matteo doing well- and clay is not his favoured surface, so even better.

I had my suspicions about why Djok had a day match , rather than the night one- and it would appear that thunder storms are likely late afternoon(when he's due to play). Et voilà! Djok gets the roof. Drastic change of conditions- indoors always favours him. Fonseca seemed less fazed by the heat- outdoors would have been a better bet.

Although- that could work against Djok, as the noise of a bunch of Brazilians cheering for Joao with the roof on might be even more of a distraction.

Still, weather can be unpredictable, and it might not happen. But I will place my bets on the roof being closed as a 'pre-emptive measure' in case the thunder happens.

Just checked several weather sites for you @Raahh Thunderstorms looks pretty unlikely until tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Thank you Magi- I was relying on the BBC app- which told me storms may happen in Paris this afternoon- but it would not be the first time they have been wrong (they are very rarely right ).

We had a massive storm a couple of nights back.. The lightning lit up my bedroom.

I was the only one it woke up .

Even the dog slept through it!

(It is sometimes hard to tell whether it's thunder or planes near our hour though - but this was definitely thunder ).

Jodar is doing ok- just about holding on, in the second set.

Not so good for the Muchova, who has lost the first set against Teichmann, 1-6.

Whoever wins this, plays PCB next, and that won't be easy- he has massive amounts of stamina- which is what is lacking in Rafa's game at the moment.

I see that Pam Shriver has called out RG on the state of the courts (sponsor signage and tarpaulin at the back) after Zeynep Sonmez had to retire 2 games into her doubles match earlier, after colliding with it chasing for a long ball. Obviously, it happened to Blockx and I think Katie Boulter tripped on tarp or signage yesterday aswell.

It's not good, is it kazza. ?

Not sure what it will take for the tournament to do something about it.
