Looks like the old thread is ending and I had a Jannik-panic Grin.

It's difficult when I'm not really a fan of his opponent- I mean, it's not quite as bad as when Djok played Kyrgios at Wimbledon, and I wanted them to both knock themselves out.

Still

I remember an episode where there was a crazed bloke on the loose, with Luca and Abby both being attacked in adjacent rooms to a Snow Patrol soundtrack. I really rooted for those two as a couple.

I can't remember what channel The Pitt is on but I think it's one we don't have.

I’ve never watched ER. Sounds like I’ve missed out! Hospital dramas aren’t really my thing though.

Going to be a long match - 1 set all now.

Raahh · 24/05/2026 21:37

Looks like Djok is taking over in set 3.
Annoyingly.

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 24/05/2026 21:39

ER is the only hospital drama I've ever watched. No Casualty, Holby or other US ones (even I'm too old for Dr Kildare!) but ER really set the benchmark Chessie

Raahh · 24/05/2026 21:43

Oh, as far as UK medical dramas went - I did love Holby. I cried when it ended. Blush. it was my Tuesday night!
I watched Casualty from the start, but gave up on it a while back.

There are some good matches today, but due to several aborted attempts recently, dh decided we would gather the dcs for a meal out. So I will miss Casper , at least.

So we are off to the curry mile in Manchester (as you do on one of the hottest days of the year so far ) for lunch. DD1's student flat smack bang in the middle of it, so it's easy for her to join us there, and it's not far away.

Jasmine Paolini on early this morning. Weather still looks very warm in Paris (it is here- was up early to walk the dog- he was not into it at all Grin).

DD and I are going to the cinema today which will hopefully be nice and cool (and also hopefully not too busy).

I’m watching Matteo playing Fucsovics, which
is a rerun of the match we watched live two years ago at Wimbledon! Hopefully Matteo wins this time too.

Raahh · 25/05/2026 10:58

Up and down first set for Jasmine, but she finally made it through.

I remember you going to that match!

Fingers crossed he strips off wins the match this time.

I've just seen that Jasmine isn't playing doubles with Sara this tournament, Sara is playing with Lili Tagger. It's probably not a bad idea for Jasmine to focis on her singles for a bit. Tagger is coached by Schiavone , which is possibly how she got paired with Errani.

OP posts:
Raahh · 25/05/2026 11:12

Rinderknech is making a meal of finishing this set- they only went to this match to see the end of it.

The Jasmine match will be over at this rate!

ChessieFL · 25/05/2026 11:38

Matteo lost the first set tiebreak. Pleased to see Jasmine’s doing well.

Toby Samuels (the British qualifier) appears to be putting up a good show against ADM. I expected that to be more of a whitewash than it appears to be by the scoreline.

Raahh · 25/05/2026 11:47

I had forgotten that Jasmine and Sara won the doubles at RG last year- it will have been a big decision to choose not to defend it, but Jasmine has had problems with her foot, I think.

Toby started the second set really well , until AdM got going again- he's certainly not going down without fight.

NuRafa is starting soon- good luck to him. Big match though , Kovacevic has been playing well recently

I’m enjoying your trip down memory lane Chessie

Watching a bit of Stan. The court is very slippery.

ChessieFL · 25/05/2026 14:52

Stan’s kit looks like he’s been rolling around on the court.

Pleased to see Matteo won.

Raahh · 25/05/2026 15:05

I'm glad to see Matteo won- and NuRafa made light work of Kovacevic.

OP posts:
Raahh · 25/05/2026 15:06

Stan's kit is strange. Looks a bit like the poo shorts kit.

It's a shame he didn't get the checked shorts out for a (possible) final outing.
