Mine recently was Project hail Mary. Fantastic film. I went to keep ds2 company as he fancied it. It's long but I was engrossed.

I'm sure there's a series too but I can't think atm.

Yellowstone for me. It starts off really slow and I was ready to jack it in by the 3rd episode but I’m so glad I didn’t. I really enjoyed it. Kelly Reilly was just phenomenal!

The last Kingdom. Not a fan of violence or war scenes, but absolutely brilliant and addictive.

Undercover was another one I didn't expect to get into. Will look up landman.

Villanousvillans · 10/05/2026 04:08

Breaking Bad. My DH had watched it and kept saying I should watch it. It was far better than I expected. Better Call Saul also exceeded my expectations. It’s a brilliant show.

Happy Valley. I thought it was going to be twee and a bit like Heartbeat and it was very much the opposite!

I loved it. I cried a lot when Tommy was looking around the house at the end and realised how well cared for Ryan was. I felt bad feeling sad for such a monster. I had a cousin who died young from drugs and didn't have a good childhood so think it triggered something.

Really did not fancy a hospital type drama series but just recently finished The Good Doctor and what a brilliant show!
Shaun the protagonist has autism and it shows how he handles every day life and people judging him.

Another vote for Landman

DP went on and on I thought it would be man rubbish but I love it

TellyLass · 14/05/2026 16:00

We'd have to subscribe to watch Landman. I am thinking of getting rid of Netflix. We've already got rid of Apple (for now). Do you need Apple to get paramount?

We have prime.

Celebrity Traitors, reality shows just aren’t my thing, but I loved it.
Rooster. Steve Carelll has 2 settings, one of which is Unwatchable, but this is great.
The Pitt. Do we really need an updated ER set in real time? Why yes, we most certainly do.

CrossPurposes · 14/05/2026 16:41

A couple of oldies from me: Upstart Crow and No Offence.

Squirrelsnut · 14/05/2026 16:44

I watched the film Blackberry the other day to keep DH company and I loved it. Jay Baruchel was terrific; I'm only used to seeing him in kids' films.

We have prime.

If you get Paramount through Prime you may get an offer, I got the free week and when I cancelled I got offered 3 months at £2.40 a month for the ad free version. Paramount is nothing to do with Apple TV.

managingexpectations · 15/05/2026 20:42

Glitch on Netflix. The blurb really wasn’t my cup of tea but it’s really good

Cheers. Really fancy Landman. We're rewatching Ludwig atm.

I second Landman. We are obsessed with it!

TellyLass · 15/05/2026 22:20

Oh I remembered a biggie. Ghosts! I'd watched one episode years ago and thought it was just for kids so binned it. A good while Mumsnetters convinced me otherwise so dh and I watched it all. And watched all again. 🤣
