French TV series recommendations after Spiral and Le Bureau des Légendes

I’m learning French and really enjoy watching French TV (with the subtitles as a safety net 😉). I’ve watched Spiral/Engrenages and just finished Le Bureau des Légendes - any recommendations of engrossing series?

Women at War on Netflix is entertaining - totally daft but good escapism

Sorry, search for HIP High Intellectual Potential. I think there’s both the US remake and the one w Audrey on there so yo have to make sure to pick the latter and change the language and subtitles on it.

Ignore my last post, I found it! Thank you so much, and its brilliant to know that I can watch in one language and have subtitles in English, I didn't know that and I hate dubbed series.

Symphonie is good, about orchestra players and their lives.

L’intruse about an au pair is good.

The intruder has put me off ever getting an au pair!

Thanks for the additional suggestions, I will
look forward to exploring those. Does anyone else struggle more with some accents than others? If only every French actor spoke like President Macron I’d be fine without subtitles but some of the slang in police dramas in particular, combined with super fast delivery is almost incomprehensible 😳

I know!! I too can understand Received Pronunciation French very well, but the second a criminal or teenager starts to babble I’m completely lost.

Just thought of a series I really enjoyed - Baron Noir. It’s about politics, but don’t let that put you off - it’s all about scheming and back-stabbing.

Public Enemy (Ennemi Public) - TW - Involves a child killer and has very Silence of the Lambs vibes.
The Mantis (La Mante) - Very gory. A female serial killer agrees to help catch a copycat but only if the detective on the case is her now adult son.

Panda is also an easy watching crime-comedy series. I think the French accent in it is the easiest to understand of the ones I've watched.

I've just started watching High Potential which is a remake of the French HIP, both are on Disney+.

I’ve just started watching Le Comte de Monte Cristo on iPlayer - lots of beautifully modulated pronunciation so nice and easy to follow (and sumptuous sets and costumes as a bonus)!
